How To Get To Heaven When You Die

The wages of sin is death. (Rom 6:23)

There are two ways to undergo death for one's sins.

A very disagreeable way is the lake of fire depicted by Rev 20:11-15. That's not a good option because for one thing: it's a mode of death akin to a foundry worker falling into a kettle of molten iron, and for another: nobody walks away alive from it.

A second way to undergo death for one's sins is via the cross because for one thing: it's very safe, and for another: everyone walks away from it with immortality.

In some mysterious way that has thus far eluded my sense of fair play; God accounts folks unified with Christ as joint principals with him in his crucifixion.

● Rom 6:3 . . Don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

● Rom 6:8 . . We died with Christ,

● Gal 2:20 . . I am crucified with Christ

● Col 3:1-3 . . Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

FAQ: How would someone go about becoming a joint principal with Christ in his crucifixion? In other words: how do I go about getting myself nailed up there with him?

Find a quiet moment. Cover your face with your hands for a sense of privacy and simply speak with God-- aloud or under your breath --saying, in your own words:

"God, I'm a sinner with a lot to answer for. I would like to be accounted crucified with your son if I may. Thank You."

Now; the added advantage is that everyone unified with Christ in his crucifixion are also unified with him in his resurrection. The thing is: he came back with immortality. (Rom 6:8-11, 1Tim 6:14-15, and Rev 1:18) So then: the bodies we have now will eventually become too weak to continue, but these are not all there is. Everyone unified with Christ is on track for a miraculous upgrade. (Phil 3:20-21, 2Cor 5:1-4)

But you cannot just say words, action is also needed. With God's help you must turn from sin and begin the path of sanctification which leads to us being perfect before God...

FAQ: What if I'm naturally dishonest; you know: born that way?

REPLY: You mean like Ps 58:3, which says:

"The wicked are estranged from the womb; these who speak lies go astray from birth."

Well; that's pretty serious.

● Rev 21:8 . . . All liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

POSIT: I'm not a degenerate liar. I'm basically honest and lie only on occasion.

REPLY: But you're not 100% honest, i.e. you're a person of marginal integrity whom God cannot rely upon to always be straight with Him.

Liars don't need a rule book, instead; they need a miracle to liberate them from themselves so they don't end up on the wrong side of things. In other words: they need an overhaul from top to bottom and inside and out, i.e. a full and complete renovation to get rid of that lying streak they were born with; to wit:

● John 3:7 . . You should not be surprised at my saying that you must be born again.

It's my guess that most natural-born liars would agree that it's to their advantage to start over again from scratch.

● Ps 15:1-2 . Lord: who may dwell in Your sanctuary? Who may live on Your holy hill? . . . He who speaks the truth from his heart.

There are some things that you should know:

1. Realize that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior:

Ro 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Ro 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

It all began when the first humans, Adam and Eve were created and God put them in the garden of Eden. God created them perfect to live in fellowship with Him. There was no death or sorrow. God told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They disobeyed God and as a result, sin entered into the world. The pain, which this world sees, is the result of sin.

2. Because of our sins, we die both spiritually and physically, but God sent His Son to die so that you can have a chance not to have to go to hell by accepting what He did on the cross:

Ro 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Ro 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Every person who has ever lived is a sinner and is not righteous because we do bad things. A sin is a crime against God, just as if you steal something at the store, it is punishable by going to jail. It's the same thing with sin. Lying, stealing, sex before marriage, pride, hatred, ect. are all sins. Hell is a prison for those who commit crimes against God. That's because you must be perfect in order to get to heaven. No matter how well you live your life from then on, you have already sinned, which will be punished if you are not pardoned. If you commit a crime, and then live as a good citizen you still will go to jail for the crime you committed. Right? Just as the President can pardon a crime so you won't go to jail, Jesus can pardon your sins so that you do not go to hell, and can go to heaven when you die. You won't have to pay for your own sins because Jesus already did that for you, But if you reject the pardon that He offers, you will have to pay for your own sins by going to hell.  He is the only one qualified because He is the only one ever to live a sinless, perfect life.

3. If you will confess Jesus Christ as Your Lord, place your Faith in Him and Believe in your heart that He died, shed His blood and rose again as a sacrifice for your sins, you will be saved (from hell).

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

You cannot get to heaven by being a good person, going to church, baptism or any other way other than by turning to Jesus, believing in your heart that He died on the cross and rose from the dead for your sins and placing your Faith in Him. While these are good things to do, some people believe that they will get to heaven, but your Faith must be in Christ and His sacrifice alone and nothing else, giving your life to Him.

Eph 2:8,9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Ro 10:9,10;13 "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved...For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

4.  You must submit your life to Jesus Christ and His will in Faith, believing in your heart that He died and rose again shedding His blood to pay for your sins as a sacrifice to God.  If you want to accept Jesus free gift of salvation, or if you have any doubts about whether or not you are going to heaven, YOU COULD HUMBLY PRAY SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO GOD FROM YOUR HEART IN FAITH:

"Dear Lord Jesus I know that I  am a sinner and need you to save me.  I believe that You are the Lord and believe in my heart that You died on the Cross and Rose from the dead, shedding your blood as a Sacrifice for my sins.  I turn to You as the only way of Salvation, I submit my life to you, I submit my will to yours, I place my Faith and Trust in You alone as Lord of my life, Please save me and I thank You for it, in Jesus holy name, Amen."

If you have truly placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord, submitting your life to Him, you can know that you are a child of God and on your way to heaven.  Now that you are on your way to heaven, you should attend a bible believing church and follow in baptism.

Acts 22:7-8,10 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? [8] And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest. [10] And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.

Saul had confessed with his mouth the Lord Jesus and believed, having called Jesus Lord and asking what he shall do, after Jesus identified himself, and yet he was STILL in his sins three days later

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Believing in Jesus and confessing Him did lead Saul to have His sins washed away, three days later, but Saul wouldn't be saying Romans 10:9-10 was all there was too it for others when that was not all there was to it with himself, and in fact in Romans 10:9-10 Paul didn't say that's all there is to it.

This "grace alone, through faith alone" version of Romans 10:9-10 and made up prayer is more "their" curriculum and narrative than it is scripture.
