How does the Devil find out what we are thinking?

We know the Devil isnt omnipresent, so how does he temp us, how does he know what makes us stumble, how does see what we are thinking and tempt us as even Jesus had to face it.

Matthew 4:1
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

Does the devil just try every temptation to see if we react, or do we ourselves betray our thoughts and if so, how does he pick it up if he is not there...?

When tempted, no one should say, ("God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil), nor does He tempt anyone. (But each one is tempted when by his own evil desires he is lured away and enticed.) Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death....-James 1:14..... It is you yourself. "The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light." -Mat.6:22

These questions are irrelevant.  As scripture describes, Satan was destroyed along with his angels and every unclean spirit back in AD 70.  Any evil thoughts or actions since then have not been due to Satan or his devils' instigation, but have been solely the fault of humanity and what emerges from their own hearts.

Even during the short time Satan had left to exist back in the early years of the first-century, Christ still laid the blame for evil on the hearts of mankind.  "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." (Mark 7:21-23).

No Satanic or demonic assistance required.

Really?  Says who?  I see no mention of 70 ad in scripture.  Indeed John writing in the 90s ad warns us in his first letter to try spirits, and to watch out for the demon of antichrist.

1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

1 John 4:3
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

Yes, this.  (emphasis added)

Yes. actually satan is your conscience, aka the strongman, the serpent, the  accuser, the heart. This all takes place in the garden, that is in your mind. Gen.3:1-19 is a picture of it.

John was not writing in the 90's.  John said he was writing at a time when "it is the last hour" (1 John 2:18).  That "last hour" of the "last days" was just before Jerusalem was destroyed, and just before the power of the holy people was shattered.  And that destruction was in the AD 70 period.

God used the city of Jerusalem as a prison for the Devil and his angels during that period - for whom that location had been prepared.    At the end of it, every unclean spirit and the Devil and his angels had been destroyed from the earth.  This eradication of Satan's realm back then had been prophesied in multiple scriptures.

Paul encouraged the Roman believers in Romans 16:20 that God was going to crush Satan under their feet shortly - and it would be in that first-century generation.

There has been no Devil or his angels or any unclean spirits since then to "read our minds" or instigate evil in this world.  Humanity is perfectly capable of producing evil for this world themselves without any help whatever from the destroyed Satanic realm.

Yet, Christ as fully man, could be tempted and experience the full spectrum of man on earth..
