Elon Musk's favorite recreational activity is playing videogames

Here's his list of favorites according to this article. I've only played a couple of these (BioShock and Quake). But one thing I know about most of these is that they take an enormous amount of time to complete. Like I hear Elden Ring takes something like 60-70 hours, huge, on top of being an extremely challenging game.

The Fallout series is crazy long, from what I hear. I can't fathom taking the time to play them. I've heard people say things like they poured 200 hours into Fallout 4 and "barely scratched the surface." (me = forget it, MAYBE once or twice in my life have I spent that kind of time on a single game).

I mean, I get that video games are rarely directly involved in earning money or getting something else done, but what argument does one propose to make against it being an enriching hobby unless you want to condemn all arts and recreational activities altogether?

I'm not sure what kind of enrichment hobbies and or recreational activities might provide, short of temporary enjoyment during such, or perhaps health benefits if such include exercise. I do know of one re-creational activity which has eternal benefits though, in building a relationship with God through Christ Jesus our Lord. Would to God, that we would all put more time into this.

Jhn 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
