Jaime

I keep hearing that an East Coast and Gulf Coast port strike is coming soon. Anyone got any news on that?

mommydi

I saw one mention of that yesterday but can't remember where.

Texas Conservative

Jaime

I would guess this will NOT help the Kamala campaign, other than to divert the news cycle from her incompetence. I sure hope there isn't a run on toilet paper like in the Covidian debacle!😩

Our grocery store was exceptionally busy today. Everybody noticed it, but no one knew why. We just moved from Midland to Lubbock last week and we had gone through our refrigerated items pretty much as the move was upon us. My wife wanted to stock up on some meat today and some other items after we heard of this .

If anyone runs into a TP shortage I have some of the rougher stuff left from covid I can send to you. Similar to Scott tissue.

Some news organization asked Joe yesterday with the looming port strike if he would invoke Taft/Heartly...

He said no he does not believe in that.

I know why.

On Fox last night they said that the bulk of the areas hit bad
except for Nashville, were RED areas...

And it was mentioned about their not having voting ability.

Joe wont do anything to help a GOP area much until after the election.

They said it was dicey if mail in ballots could get to the people in time and if they would even think about voting with thinking about their losses and clean up they are facing.

As to food shortages. There is only me and since my last bout of covid I dont even want to eat. Food tastes terrible.

Since my first covid years ago, I have avoided most meat as much as possible

Oh my goodness, Jaime! You moved! I was in the middle of getting the house ready to sell for a move to TX, then all heck broke loose here. I just got back on all of it and messed up my knee yesterday, so I'm in bed with an ice pack on it. I hope your move went well. This is stressful!

I'm hearing that since unions are Democrat controlled, that this may be a plan to help Kamala. The Dem controlled unions choose now to strike - when Kamala is floundering in the polls - then allow Kamala to run in and save the day by negotiating a pre-planned deal.

Girl, you need protein now more than ever! How are you getting any? Eggs? Cottage cheese??

Eggs, protein shakes and bars.

Meat just tastes horrible to me anymore.

A lot of other food does too.

I can eat what I should not. Bacon is fine. Some ham is fine, Ground chuck (only) if mixed in like cjili or some other way.

If I eat say a chix pot pie i end up picking the chicken out.

I have not been but cannot imagine going to a good steak house and trying Filet Mignon and not liking it. Have not been since lock down days.

Used to love Outbacks Prime Rib but now am afraid of it... of course that I can smother in bloomin sauce.

Fast food burgers are still ok but there you have everything else they dump on them.

I drink a lot of milk.

I hope this is the last time dor us to move. I feel like I have PTSD with all the things that have to be done and ususally get screwed up by ME. It's like a symphony of chaos. I could write a nook on the last three eek, but probably won't out of total disgust and frustration.

I was actually expecting the worst for oir furniture, especially the di ingnroom set, but everything madenit pretty well unscathed. I can't make calls on my I phone now for some reaso, but I can't make calls send and receive texts. All in all I will be glad about the move, just right now I feel like a complete brain fried moron. We were in Midland 40 years, and my wife abhors packrats, so we travel pretty light I thought, but filled up a 26 ft uhaul truck. Di, I hope your move is way less stressful. I can see God's hand looking back and seeing jow the pieces fell together quickly as we needed, but the day after day challenges seem to be piling up reasons to somewhat doubt God's providence, if you know what I mean! At any rate I am way to danged old to be moving. No doubt about it.
