Since the Charlie Kirk assassination, I've stumbled upon several online discussions/debates over this topic. When Christians die, can they watch their loved ones from afar? I've read all kinds of opinions on it, and some were pretty bizarre. Read some scripture references - but, as usual, no consensus. There's never a consensus, is there?
Just three days ago, I read another online discussion on this topic and wished GC forum was still open and wondered what y'all would say about it. And look! Here it is! GC is open, again!

I don't have a strong opinion either way, except the  Bible teaches we will have no sorrow in heaven. It seems to me if we had the ability to see our loved ones, we would have a big chance of some sorrow over their plights. If we had that ability we would maybe mercifully have a sorrow filter.  ::shrug::

LOL, see wishes do come true.

I have no opinion but I think the majority of people in general believe that to be the case when a loved one passes. I even have family, who to this day a year later will say to me that your mom is looking down on us (including them ) and smiling at what we are doing.

I know the spirit (man's) goes back to God, who gave it, upon mortal death... but the rest I am not so certain.

This is a great subject for a thread.

I think it's more of a feel good thing to comfort the people that are grieving, even non-believers use the quotes more often than not.

Agree, but it can sometimes be awkward.
I've seen enough embarrassing behavior before/during/after funerals that hopefully the dearly departed can't witness it all. Yes, emotions run high around the time of death, but people, let's control ourselves a little.

I would offer. .The bible declares the moment of the passing of the new born again spirit a new creation . . . its universal Alzheimer's.

In the born again believers new incorruptible bodies. .  neither male nor female Jew nor gentile (Bride)

The past things will never come to memories. Now is the time we can love the lord as he brings to our memory the things he has taught us things that can comfort.

Memory the greatest gift that many seem to take for granted  In the same memory way comforting teaching

Ecclesiastic 9: 5-7 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works

John emphasizing the comforting power when and he brings to our memory.

Even bringing to our memory each other so we can pray as a family .

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Satan the father of lies would deceive mankind to believe we can commune with the dead. His lie. .  Memories never die (patron saints ) Limbo, Purgatory, Queen mother.

Christ is still sending, the good memories. Lovingly commanding us to think on the good .Yoked with Him daily burdens can be lighter with a future living hope beyond what the eyes see .A new coming memory never die. . .

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
