I will gladly pray for the poor monkey.  I hope that he finds shelter and/or trusts someone to help him.   I would pray that he remains free but there probably aren't any other monkeys around to hang out with!

ChickinChrist

Poor monkey. I love monkeys, I really do. Could someone bring a female monkey to uh, you know, get him interested?

I'm sure someone will think of something brilliant

In the meantime, monkey prayers are said.

Nevertheless

Um . . .  Just wondering Chick . . .  Don't foxes EAT chickens???

:0

:D

ChickinChrist

You know, I thought the fox/cat looking thing was a terrier at first. It's kinda dopey looking bobbin it's head around like that. Not what I intended at all.

:help:

janine

Which is an indisputable sign that she is a foxy chick!

Yes indeed!!

I looked at the avatar section again. Not a begging terrier one.

The cat's growin' on me though. I'm glad Janine likes him. I can sleep better now.

Yes, really, I want you to pray for a monkey!

A family had a pet Capuchin monkey about 8 years, as far as I know caught very young or bred in captivity, and so having limited "wild" talents. Also, his front teeth had been removed, unfortunately. (That's an "organ grinder" monkey, like on the TV show "Friends".)

They had to give him up. A family in a nearby town, one that rescues unwanted animals, took him in temporarily, while some people from a sanctuary in Florida were arranging to come get him.

He escaped, and has been at large 2 or 3 days, eluding anyone who chases him. Ordinarily, South Louisiana would be a great place for most monkeys - lots to eat, forests to hide in - but...

It's going to be well below freezing here this weekend, maybe even in the teens Saturday night, after projected cold rains as the Arctic front comes down. He'll die.  He's no Japanese Snow Monkey.

I know we all have our ups and downs, and some of us here have REALLY tough situations right now, but I know we can still feel pity for a little critter who runs, as fast as he can, away from people who only want to help him. (Ha! Like a lot of people we know, ourselves included... )

So, pray a monkey prayer for me!

janine

I'm not sure what would would want to hang out with a monkey, around here.  The parakeets and love birds and conures and cockatiels all find some type of bird to flock with when they get away, but what would interest a monkey?

Anyway, I heard at Bible class tonight that he was caught... in fact that someone among the professional monkey people  :D  who came knew just what to do to entice him, and he came right to them.

Now I won't have to feel like I should be out combing the bayousides Saturday morning with icicles hanging off my eyebrows.

ChickinChrist

Didn't see the last post.

I'm glad to hear he's o.k. now

janine

Ha, Chick, it may be that's how they convinced him to come in, maybe they brought another monkey.

Um... you wanted a terrier?  You might be able to do the supply-your-own-avatar thing by linking to a spot that has the picture you want.

Or if you take a photo of your own dog & send it to Wiley, he might have room to put it on his website for you.

janine

I dunno, it's kinda gracefully playing with its toy, humble even, rather than a Wishbone-in-yer-face... I like it fine.

Barb1957

Hate to point this out, but ChickInChrist's avatar's name is something like "Quiet Kitty.gif" (right click, image properties) ... So that's s'posed to be a cat ... which also eats chicks.  Sure does kinda look like a fox though, don't it?

Booty

I am sorry Janine, I missed this thread. (Something about trying to check all the theology threads!!! LOL).  But I see our wee furry fugitive is safely captured, so may I thank the Lord? :bowsmiley:  :priest:

Ach and you know our Eliu's decided sometime back that I was to have a wee monk.... Long story but they are decided to see if I can train one. This animal training is apparently a big deal to them, poor Bongo, Jesuscito's hound, he has been in class ever since Jesuscito watched me teaching Bunny to come to heel. Only problem I have now is Bunny is trained to hand and whistle, so the Elius enjoy signaling commands to her from afar.

In any event someday "Darwin" will arrive and we will see how trainable they are. You know my Granda could train cats! I never have managed that, but I remember "Fishbreath" coming when called, sitting and heeling.
Ach animals, they do touch our hearts, do they not. And by the way, I remember a certain prayer request that was honoured for Bunny Wabbit, a rottweiler. So monkeys may be prayed for as well.
