Robin,

Glad to have you join us.  Seems you have already discovered that we are just the opposit of what you live with.  I know how you feel, as do others on this list.  Here in rural Texas, the majority of congregations are very much like yours.  They are very traditional, legalistic, and very much afraid of change.
Comfort zones are extremely hard to break out of, especially if someone has been there for a long time.

God bless,

Wiley

Hello!
I am so happy to have a forum to discuss the things that matter most!  I am a 40 year old woman from a traditional, conservative Church of Christ background.  I live in Tennessee and attend a congregation of around 100.  The folks here are wonderful and kind and friendly.  They are also very conservative and afraid of discussing outside their comfort zone.  There's a lot of fear of anything that sounds unfamiliar.  That is why I am so pleased to be able to express my opinions and voice my concerns in this way.   :D

Susie

Hi, Robin.  I look forward to becoming acquainted with you.
