Man's Spirit & His Glorified Body

"But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it [heaven] we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform [remodel] our lowly body to be like His glorious body..." (Phil. 3:20-21).

A glorified, transformed body is one that is no longer subject to aging, illnesses, diseases, deterioration, or death. Apparently, this is the kind of body our Lord currently has. At His death, His physical body underwent a transformation, a glorification. And it was this living form that appeared to His disciples on the mountain, alongside the living forms of Moses and Elijah.

Moses and Elijah, two servants among the greatest, now possess glorified, transformed bodies. And those bodies are very much alive somewhere in God's domain, for they appeared with Jesus centuries after they departed this planet. They are not sleeping. Nor was Samuel sleeping when God allowed a medium to "call him up" to give King Saul a message of death (1 Sam., chapter 28). He was very much alive.

My spirit and your spirit, the real you and me, will be clothed with some form of glorified body at death to await the resurrection, at which time we will receive our eternal body. "But God gives it a body as He has chosen...It is sown [buried] a natural [biological] body; it is raised a spiritual body" (1 Cor. 15:35-54). Amen and glory to our Awesome Creator!

Could you provide the scripture for this?

1Co 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

It is at the resurrection that the dead receive their glorified, immortal, spiritual bodies. Not at death. The sleeping dead, are awakened by the voice of our Lord Jesus Christ unto the resurrection of eternal life in their new immortal spiritual bodies.

Jhn 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

The dead, come forth from the grave, unto the resurrection of life. Our Lord understood the dead to be in a state expressed as sleep until being awakened at the or a resurrection by God.

Mrk 5:35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. 37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. 38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. 39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. 40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. 41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. 42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. 43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

These same three men that Jesus took with Him when He raised the Damsel from the sleep of death, He also took with Him to His transfiguration where Moses and Elijah appeared as well. Because these men would understand, that Moses represented those who would be raised from the dead as he was also (Jude 1:9), and Elijah represented those who would never see death, as Elijah never saw death being translated and taken to heaven from earth without dying.

Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. 28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. 4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. 7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. 8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. 9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

These three men were privileged to see the representation of Christ's kingdom which is to come, before they died, as Jesus had stated in Mt 16:28. Jesus was transformed before them into His glorious heavenly body, Moses was there as a representative of those who would be resurrected from the dead at Christ's second coming, and Elijah was there as a representative of those who would be alive at our Lord's second coming and never see death. Being transformed from mortal to immortal at that time as Holy Scripture testifies.

1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

The experiences of Moses and Elijah are examples unto us, of how it shall be at the resurrection, not at death. Elijah never died, and Moses was resurrected in a special resurrection, akin to those resurrected after our Lord's resurrection (Mt 27:52&53).

Jhn 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. 41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. 42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? 43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Because we have been delivered from death to new born again life we have a new promised new body that the old will die return to dust --- none receiving. (Hebrew 11:39 )As the bride of Christ it will be neither male nor female Jew nor gentile.

Two resurrections the first born again-- the second ---receive the promised new body

Reincarnation multiple risings

Christian hope is not reincarnation or endless cycles of return. Scripture teaches resurrection life through Christ. God is not bound to corruptible flesh or man-made forms. The gospel points us away from trusting visible systems and toward the unseen, living God who gives eternal life.

Those speak of a different body not a natural (physical) body in any sense. Neither describes Jesus' body after being raised.  1 Corinthians 15:44 specifically speaks of a spiritual body, which neither you nor I have the slightest clue of what it might be.

Christian hope is not reincarnation or endless cycles of return. Scripture teaches resurrection life through Christ. God is not bound to corruptible flesh or man-made forms. The gospel points us away from trusting visible systems and toward the unseen, living God who gives eternal life

Jhn 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

According to our Lord Jesus Christ there are two literal resurrections in the future. The resurrection of the saved unto life, and the resurrection of the wicked unto damnation.

Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

For a thousand years after our Lord returns and brings the saved of the first resurrection back to heaven with Him as He promised in Jn 14:1-4, Satan is bound upon this earth where the wicked have been destroyed by the brightness of our Lord's coming as Paul revealed in 2Th 2:8, and Rev 6:12-17, and Rev 14:14-20. Therefore does he no longer have anyone to deceive for a thousand years. During which time the saved reign with our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven, as the above verses testify.

5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Again, the saved have lived and reigned with their Lord for a thousand years, while the wicked have perished leaving no one for Satan to deceive during that thousand years. After which the wicked dead are raised unto the resurrection of damnation our Lord told us about in Jn 5:28&29. He deceives them again, and they attempt to take the city, the New Jerusalem. After which, they are destroyed in the lake of fire. This is why all those of the first resurrection are blessed and holy, the second death has no power over them, they have eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The wicked are judged and condemned to the second death in the lake of fire, because their names are not written in the book of life, where only the saved have their names written by the blood of Christ Jesus our Lord alone. AMEN!
