:hug: Wiley,  CONGRATULATIONS!  I've been there, know exactly how you are feeling.  There's nothing quite like that first one.  I have three now and expect no more.  I only had one child and she did me good,  WONDERFUL grandchildren.
Enjoy this gift from the Father!  He certainly knew what He was doing when He gave us grandchildren.!!!!!

Hi everyone!  Thanks for all the kind words!!!  I've already made the 65 mile drive to the hospital AGAIN.  Those little hands just tug really hard at you--hard to stay away!  Took some more photos today with her moma's help.  Dressed her up (not even a day old yet!) and shot a another 24 shots which I have not seen yet but I suspect some will end up on my website tomorrow-from what my wife has told me about the photos! She's been up there this afternoon and just had to take off work tomorrow for the same reason---Just can't imagine why :D

As soon as I can put together a photo gallery from some of the photos. I'll post the address (probably sometime tomorrow morning).

Try to remember the emotional carnival ride you're on now; make notes, a journal of her first year (good use for extra baby pix), whatever you like.  Just make sure you remember.

That way, when the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc., grandchild comes along, you won't make them feel like an afterthought by not cutting as many backflips for them as you did for River.

at 7:48 pm, CST, River Cadence Rains, Daughter of Shannon and David Rains, entered this world peacefully and I became a grandfather.  What a wonderfull feeling that is.  I have already held her for about 30 minutes and the bonding process is started!!  Oh - the super glue that comes out of those little precious lives and just gets all over you instantly!  All those old feelings I had with my three daughters came rushing back after all these years!!!

God has truely blessed the Clarkson/Rains family this day!!!!!!

I will post photos after getting the film processed tomorrow!!!

As a charter member of "Grand dads and proud of it!" welcome to the club. You have been placed in a wonderful place, with an opportunity to love this little girl from the perspective of wisdom and experience....Every child needs as many grand parents as they can get!!!
