nice site wiley
could only get some of the colorado pics to come up though, and none in the other sections... maybe it's just my work computer letting me down...

Wiley,

Looks great.  I wish more forumites would email you their pics so we could have more connection with each other.

By the way Booty, you are not at all what I had pictured in my mind that you would look like.

Janine, you are just like I imagined    :lookaround:

Kevin

janine

Nope.  I chose my avatar because of my signature, which I am stuck with for the duration of the glitchfest.

I was getting into my whiteface to go out & deliver a singing telegram.

nerdneh

Wiley, good start to a great idea. Must say Janine your singing telegram business must involve many a carte blanche!

The singing telegram business is scary though, I suppose you heard the one about the guy who opens the door to find a telegram delivery person standing there:
"I have a telegram for you sir..."
The man says, "Oh, I have never had a telegram delivered to me, I want you to sing it."
"But, sir I don't think that will be appropiate," replied the telegram messenger.
"No, I insist," the man replied. "If you don't sing the message I will report you to your supervisor."
"Very well," said the telegram messenger, clearing his throat and beginning to sing:

"Ummm, Ummm, sorry to say, your sister Rose is dead...dah, dah..."

:frowning:  :lookaround:

Just a little bit.  Interesting thing is his step-mother and two half sisters are Bolivian.  His dad lived in Bolivia for many years trying to get a mine going.  Of course once it started making any progress the gov. seized it.  They are all in the U.S. now.

His sisters are really beautiful.  "Indian" complexion, dark hair, and startlingly blue eyes.

Our families are rather cosmopolitan.  Hubby and I are twelfth and tenth generation Americans, mostly German, Irish, and English descent,  but through various family member's marraiges we have relatives from Bolivia, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Viet Nam, Korea, and the Phillipines.

Kev, I do not have a scanner nor do I have a digital camera...I am edging slowly into the millienium (sp?). Anyway, what I would want to know is if I get my camera pics online through Walmart, can I send them to Wiley to put here? I have some being developed and they will be ready next week. Should i show the ones with me in feathers?

Maurine

janine

Sure, if you can.  There's always that mysterious glitch hanging about in the background... It won't let me change anything in my profile, my signature, nuthin'.

WileyClarkson

We will try this again :D

http://www.clarksons.org  go to the menu page, under the index on the left han side is a link also.

Anyone who would like to add a photo to this page, please email it to me.

janine

Wiley, I promise, as soon as I find one I can stand, I'll send you a respectable and sober picture of me.

Some of the photos are not working right now.  I changed servers a couple of months back to get a better deal and better services.  When I transferred all the files, some did not transfer successfully.  It was mainly the photos that did that.  At the same time, I got hit by ALOT of OT at work.  That will be my next project along with some photo updates.

Until Lee has time to get something going on the photos on his site, I'm going to just put photos of the gang here as they come in on a single page in no specific order--just one great big page :0

Thanks for the nice comments on the rest of the site.

I got a comment a while back through my comments page that called it the "most liberal site he had ever seen and that I should be ashamed to call myself a Christian and a member of the CoC"!  I figure that was like giving me the Gold Metal at the Olympics!! :D

BigTexson

:) Wiley, I sent a picture of myself today.

jarschqua

i especially enjoy the links to all the different churches you have on the site... it's not as sterile as a simple list on white background like many other sites...
i can tell you put a great deal of time typing all that info and setting it up... very impressive!

Thanks Wiley... The page looks great (at least it looked great, until you put my picture on it!).

Janine, what's with the make-up? Were you trying to match your avatar?

What was that like, doing singing telegrams? Were people usually pretty happy to see/hear you? Sounds like it'd be pretty cool!

WileyClarkson

I've been working on the photo gallery page on my web site.  Even added a new photo.  If you have time, take a look at it.  If your photo is one the gallery page and you would like more personal info added to it, send it to me in an email.  There is a limited amount of space beside each photo that I can include some additional info.  The web address has changed since I redesigned the page completly.  It remain at this address and I will add photos as they come in.

http://www.clarksons.org/gcmfphotogallery.htm

Of course, you can also get to it from my main menu page accessible through my splash page

[!--EDIT|WileyClarkson|Jan. 19 2003,11:53--]

janine

:(  So sorry, Booty.  {{{Prayers}}}.

Hey, Never-never, try this from my husband's much older half-brothers (tune of "At The Cross"):

"At the Bar, at the Bar,
Where I smoked my first cigar..."

or

"At the Dance, at the Dance,
Where I tore my Sunday pants..."

Baaaaaaad....

Then there's "Mildew the Mold Man", concocted by my daughter & me after Bible class one night.  I'll give you the lyrics if you like.

Hey, Wiley, have you temporary room for pictures of our church families?  Like, Mo & James & whoever meets at home can send you a shot of their intimate groups... We coudl get a shot of Booty's youth cavorting around with his menagerie... I'll send you our ladies' group photo (and a beautiful lot we are...)

janine

Closest I come to that is one Cuban uncle from the original exiles from the Castro's revolution.  Everyone else is either Cajun or assimiliated Cajun.  (Cajun culture kinda absorbs you.  Like The Blob.  But, it's so painless and blissful a procedure, one doesn't notice until it's all over.)

Boy, do I miss Uncle Manuel.  More now as an adult than I did when he died years ago.  Now that I can really see all that he gave me.

He was the first one I remember encouraging my childish attempts at art.  He used to carry around my pencil drawing of an eagle in flight, in his wallet, as if it were a photo of his own child.

Only just now as I write this do I make the connection that he may have loved it for another reason, in addition to just that I drew it.

What precious symbolic nature might a child's drawing of an eagle have had?  For a man forced to flee his beloved homeland for a chance to start all over again in freedom?

janine

Aww, I like feathers.

janine

Making up words to suit the occasion, usually in a parody-form using the notes of a popular song, was one of the best parts of the job!

Tune of "I've Been Working On The Railroad":
Sir, your sister Rose is deeeaaad,
Sheeeee died last night!
She feeeeeel down the stairs thay saaaaaaaiiid,
Gave them all a fright!

Ah, memories!

Anyway - Thanks, Wiley, for the page!

I am up too late! At first I read part of Janine's post thus: "shot of Booty's youth cavorting around with his lingerie"

Scared me to death! Boy am I ever glad I blinked and looked again and saw "menagerie" !!

WileyClarkson

Maurine,

If you can get one on line and send it to me by email I will put it on the GCM PhotoGallery on my web site.  Be sure you give me a little info to go with it if you want extra posted.  I have a couple of sentences of room.

Feather?  Can you fly :D

4kidsandadog

I finally had my husband take a picture of me this past weekend and I uploaded it so Wiley could add it to the page.  He killed off 2 of my kids when he did it though!  :0   I told him I needed to change my handle cuz we didn't have the dog anymore, and instead, he subtracted 2 kids!   :D

Whaddy'all think... should I reregister under a new name???

Karen

duckman

Karen,

With 2 of ours as teenagers, there certainly are times when I wouldn't mind subtracting 2 from our total!

Wonder if Wiley will take them, since he did the subtracting?

Great idea Wiley! As soon as I get the board running satisfactory again...and upgrade a few things, everyone can add pictures like that to their profile.

LOL!! Kevin, I am the one on the RIGHT!  That's Sandi you're looking at. I don't blame you, she is lovely!!!

But did you expect me to be small, green and playing a wee harp?

janine

It had its high notes and low notes (groan).

I'll start a thread about it one day, and ask people to submit lyrics they'd like sung at them, or something like that.

Nevertheless

Well, Janine, I guess my hubby missed his calling.  He seems to have a gift for supplying strange new lyrics to songs.  He'll start out singing the right words, but if he forgets the right words (which he usually does) he'll make up his own version, with the right number of syllables, rhyming as needed, without missing a beat!  One year we had Frosty the Snow Pup, and something about yellow snow. . . (ewwww)

The trouble is, he's an auditory learner.  If he hears himself say something he remembers it.  A few days after a bout of such creativity it can be quite a challenge to convince him that his words aren't the real lyrics!

Never

Booty

Hmm  Never does he speak Spanish, we are working on a redo of the Venezuela national anthem.

It starts out

Gloria a bravo pueblo que lugo lanzo, la le repetando y virtud y honor

(Glory to the brave people who threw of the yoke (of servitude) repecting the law, virtue and honour)

We now have

Gloria al bravo pueblo que Hugo engaño, la le no respeta ni virtud ni honor.

(Glory to the brave people that Hugo (Chavez) cheated/deceived  no respect for law, virtue nor honor)

It all sadly is fitting so well.

spurly

Okay,

Some of you need to tighten up   Scan a picture of yourself, or take one with a digital camera and send it to Wiley.  Then he can post it on his page and we can see what each other looks like.

Then, when we run into each other in public, we will know who they are - except of course for Janine.  I would only recognize her if she did her face the same way

Anyway, get with the program - you'll be glad you did.

Kevin

"Feather?  Can you fly" ...not yet but I haven't given up hope.
