How far is Abilene from Waco?  I might show up to meet you.

WileyClarkson

Bobby,

So do I   Pepperdine is really about next to the top of my want-to-do-someday list.  A trip to Israel is on the top of that list--Pepperdine Lectureship is next.  Pepperdine will probably happen a long time before Israel happens, but even so, it is several years off right now.

Here's my final Lectureship plug (maybe):

It's not too late to decide to come! Here's the link to all the info - no need to register ahead of time (unless you just want to) or anything, just show up! http://www.acu.edu/events/lectureship.html

Highlights include a forum on "Evangelicals and Churches of Christ," special classes on "Gospel and Culture" (including a coffee-house discussion each night on topics such as "Film and Faith," "Contemporary Music and Faith," and "Literature and Faith."

Hallal (praise team from Midland) will lead a time of praise after each lecture, and Sunday night there will also be a special praise time led by the Richland Hills Youth Praise Team.

Also, there's a special series of classes on  "Art and Faith" including a presentation by John Collier, one of the only artists in the nation who specializes in art for churches. Also, Jeff Berryman will speak about theology as it relates to acting and writing, and Jack Maxwell will work on a sculpture while giving a presentation about the creative process. All will take place in the brand new Williams Performing Arts Center.

Feel free to email or PM me with any questions you have. It'll be great!

Either one works for me. Did you mention that you'll be going to Hallal after the Sunday night lecture? Might be easier to meet there than in Moody as it'll be a smaller gathering.

Ya'll go by and encourage our minister who will be teaching the above classes at the Lectureship.  He is a tremendously gifted teacher and is defintely grace-centered!

May God bless all of you with an uplifting time!

Lectureship is just one week off!  They have a really strong line up of speakers and classes--and Hallal Sun-Tue nights at 8:30.  How many of us are going to be there?  So far, it's me, kathie, Kristie (her twin sis) and her boyfriend (for a couple of days), and Winky.  Any one else planning to be there?

Bobby Valentine

I'll be at Pepperdine this year (April 29-May 4).  Wish I could make both.

Shalom,

Barry,

from Waco, Abilene is probably apx 150 miles give or take up hwy 6 to I20 and west to Abilene.

WileyClarkson

Wendy,

Are we going to try to get together on Sunday evening at the Moody or for a breakfast at the Bean on monday?

WileyClarkson

Sounds good to me.  pretty easy to get lost in Moody.  Considering Hallal's popularity, it might be a packed Chapel on the Hill.  I'll be with Kristie and Kathie--naturally--so look for an middle aged man (54) with a blue jacket that says Walnut Springs Vol Fire Depart on it (and probably a black cap that says "Comanche Peak Security") being escorted by two very pretty 24 year old ladies!

KatC

Hey Dad, Wendy and everyone else who is going to attend Lecturships this year.  Wouldn't it be easier to find a meeting spot and a time to meet.  From experience, (ie chapel) its hard to find someone even when there isn't very many people there.  I'm planning on sitting stage right first couple of seats by the door at the back part of the colliseum (same seats as last year dad) as long as I can get them.  So I'll save seats if you would like me to.  Just let me know how many I need, Naturally my friends will be there as well (well diffently Aiyo).

 Chapel time...Let me know about chapel and meeting place.
