Bon Voyage

Anyone watch them?

My 19" Zenith that was 9 years old is in the purgatory of my bedroom as it is dead due to purple spots and turning off and on by itself.  So I went to ABC Warehouse and got me a new tv that has a built in HDTV tuner, even though the TV is only a SDTV. (27" Sharp CRT for a very good price)

I finally got an antenna and pulled in the broadcasts.  It is like watching Digital satellite, only without paying for it.

Haven't upgraded yet, but it's good the prices are coming down quickly.  I hear from friends that have it that it really does live up to the hype.

I don't think they are that much better.

Unless one of my TV's blows up, I will probably have to buy a converter box for our smaller set when all the stations go digital in a couple of years.

The larger tv is on cable, which, I have been told, will still offer analogue programming for a while.

???

I'd say the difference is ".....as far as the east is from the west..."

I have a 42" Plasma HDTV, You actually have to have an HD channel on your Cable or Satelite to notice the difference (for example there is ESPN and ESPN HD they are 2 different channels on the TV even though they are broadcasting the same thing, one channel is HD one is not). It is a huge difference, the HD picture is crisp, bright, color strong and flawless and the sound is worlds better.

Imagine the difference between watching a movie on VHS and a DVD, except the difference is even greater when it comes to HD and non HD channels...

my humble 2 cents

Rick
