Which of the two possible eternal destinations gets the most mention in the New Testament?

Do I get to be theologically correct?

EARTH is mentioned 188 times, though the Greek word is used 252 times.  However, only the NEW EARTH is really an eternal destination, so most of those may be disqualified.

HELL is mentioned 23 times, though only 12 of them refer to the eternal destination...the other 11 refer to Hades.  Revelation also uses the phrase LAKE OF FIRE to refer to it another few times.

HEAVEN is the answer you wanted (268 times, greek word 284 times), but it isn't an eternal destination, since God's bringing them all back to the new earth for the duration.

=)

Actually, I thought hell got more mention; and indeed heaven is only a temporary home for the saved.

Can you explain how heaven is temporary?

Ewigkeit

Simple: Since the new earth is our permanent home and we come down from heaven with Jesus at the battle of Armageddon, it stands to reason that we are in heaven only temporarily to await the establishment of God's kingdom here on earth.

Allegiance

Doesn't Satan come out of his...hole after 1000 years? And he is here on Earth if I'm correct.

Ewigkeit

He sure does...and he mounts an attack on the camp of the saints, only to be greeted by fire from heaven, which consumes his army, and results in the initiation of the final judgment and his being tossed into the lake of fire.

Barak is mentioned several times in Judges and 1 Samuel.  Is that what you were looking for?

Ewigkeit

Precisely!  McCain's first name appears only in the New Testament.

Who wrote the bible?

Ewigkeit

Souleeze, you got it right; sho her's a Manna!

The answer to your question is found in Psalm 68:11, "The Lord gave the word; great was the company of those who published it."  God inspired a number of writers to record his word.

Which ones were guilty of sexual indiscretions?
Which one was accused of sexual sin but was actually innocent?

Ewigkeit

Mary is defiitely right, and Ruth certainly had no skeletons in her personal closet; however, she did have one strike against her...being a Moabite.

Rahab was guilty of a sexual indiscretion; after all she had been a prostitute.  Mary was accused (or could have been) but was innocent.

Tamar was guilty of seducing her father-in-law but was accused of prostitution, of which she was innocent.

Ewigkeit

Although the Bible does not tell us so, Mary may well have been accused of sexual indiscretion, but she was most certainly totally innocent of any such!
