I am a tall, blond woman who has somehow gotten hooked on the television show "Little People, Big World."  It is really interesting watching this family interact.  I am also amazed at all that Matt, the father, has accomplished in spite of his handicaps.

It is a reality series about dwarf parents (Matt and Amy) who are parents to four children--Jacob, Molly, Jeremy and Zach.  Jeremy & Zach are twins, but one is a dwarf and one isn't.  Both Matt and Amy's parents are normal size.

Although the behavior of the kids is questionable much of the time, and they cuss so often you wonder if they're learning anything at the Christian School they attend, this show is worth watching.  I've learned to understand the difficulties faced by dwarfs, and have watched this amazing family as they surmount obstacles.

Matt's parents are often on the show, and they are both motivational Christian speakers.

Has anyone else watched LPBW?

This show was interesting to me from the beginning too.

I am extra interested because they live close to me.  We went to their pumpkin patch this year for our pumpkins.  I have seen the family shopping more than once at Fred Meyer and at Safeway.

I have never approached them because I know they probably get recognized a lot and are often stopped to talk...I try to let them be.  Someday I will approach them, but for now, it is cool to see someone local on television.

My wife went to the same Christian school.

Wow!  That must be weird seeing people in your real world who are on television on a regular basis.  I'd love to visit their farm someday, but Portland is a long way from where I live in the Midwest.  I'm curious...how does the family interact with one another when they're out and about?  I'd imagine they're like any typical family with kids--whining and all about what or what not to buy.   ::smile::

Pretty much like every typical family.  Kids picking on each other.  Amy getting upset that they're acting up in the store.  Asking which kind of product they want.

How is the weather there in your area, Big Mike?  Do you think the Roloff's will have a good crop of pumpkins this year?  It must be quite a thriving business by now and bring in a lot of income for them.  I wonder how much longer they'll want to do the reality show.  I'd imagine it would get old after this long a time.

I'm hooked on this show, too.  It was partly because of their faith that I got hooked (I'm always in seeing how people of faith are portrayed in shows like this).  I'd wondered if you guys might have crossed paths at some point.

I'm sure it gets tiring, but it's another way to make extra money from the show and the exposure for their farm products.  They had a lot of people last year for the pumpkins.  They have made more room for parking and I think they'll be even more prepared this year for all the visitors.

I am not a farmer, so I'm not sure what kind of crop they'll have.  It was hot last week, but it is cooling off this week.
