I think whether you believe in love at first sight has more to do with how you define it than anything else. ::smile::

I'm with you angeleyes.
I never believed it either until it happened to me.The first time I ever saw her I was smitten.I was and still am a goner.

Both me and my son knew that we had met the right person immediatly. We both met 'the one' on the internet, and even before we met our partners (mine is now my husband) we knew that they were 'the one'.
After meeting my husband, 4 days after first e-mail contact I knew he was the one for me, and I was 99% sure even after the e-mails and phone call but before the meeting. We have bene married for 4 years now and our marriage is just brilliant.
My son and his girlfriend talked about children on their first date and now a year after they are planning to get engaged in a few months.

Hello and Peace and Blessings to All,

I know that most if not all of us have heard of love at first sight, but is it real?

I for one have never believed in love at first sight until now. I have been visiting this church and the service is excellent. During the service I saw this really handsome young man of God who was crying out to God and kneeling on his knees in worship and exhaltation to God. That was the first time that I noticed him and then another Sunday I saw him again and we couldn't keep our eyes off of each other.

Come to find out, he is one of the ministers of the church and not only that he is the pastor's son. So I kept on observing him and now I can't stop thinking about him. I came to church to worship, fellowship, and to hear the word of God , but now I want to see more and more of him and really get to know him.

I haven't felt like this so fast ever in my life.

Could this be love at first sight?

I believe in love at first sight but I also believe in infatuation at first sight.

I thin lust at first sight certainly exists, love on the other hand...not so much.  I do think it is possible to sense right away when you first see/meet someone that there is something special about them, and suspect that they may be an important part of your life someday.  I say that only because it happened to me several years ago with a dear friend of mine (just friend...unfortunately haha).  We met walking to a football game at my university and met again later at a party, I could tell quickly that Junko was someone important, and I think I have the Holy Ghost to thank for that.  At the time I was getting over depression that I had been struggling with for years, and the friendship we forged over the next several months did a lot to help me be glad I was alive when for years I hated life

So I think God may speak to us when we meet/see someone for the first time, but I don't think we can really "love" someone  without knowing them (in a romantic sense at least, we should strive to love all of God's children), otherwise it's just based on looks and that is lust, which is also very powerful, but it isn't love

I love hearing the 'I just knew' stories ::eatingpopcorn:  Some people definatly get a kind of '6th sense' about someone else. However I think it's important to test it because it would be really bad to make a mistake in this area. However I met this couple in korea once who 'knew' an hour after meeting each other and were married within a week. Their families warned them about rushing into it but they had a great marriage and seemed very content together with a 9-10 year old boy. The way they talked about it, there didn't seem to have been much 'chance' in their thinking. It was a black and white case rather then shades of grey.

So I'm a believer.

But you can get infatuated too, so I think it's wise to be careful.
