this has been a popular trend over the last few decades and i always question it as i see no forgiveness, no mercy, no justice in such acts of revenge.

your thoughts...

'While at the camps, Henss oversaw slave laborers and taught other guards to handle attack dogs which were trained to tear prisoners to pieces if they attempted to escape.'

that could be what got him in trouble.  is there a statute of limitations on war crimes?
i think it's probably legal regardless of justness.

hee is a comment from the politics thread which applies better here:

QuoteIn addition, we as Christians are called to seek justice for the oppressed, to defend the widows and the fatherless, and to continue being people whose hearts are moved by the grace, compassion and mercy of God.

does the previous response mean that we draw the line at nazi's guards or soldiers from aqcts committed 60+ years ago and ignore what is said in the above quote?

though this guard doesn't fit all the categories mentioned above, where do we stop implementing mercy, forgiveness and withhold justice?

My feeling is that we need to heal from the acts of the war and these people need to experience the love, forgiveness and mercy of Jesus.  i see no exceptions here

i suppose it would be a lengthy process to change international law.  w/o influence over that, christians would not be able to change the situation.

i guess you could write your congressman.  why not review some nuremburg trial records to see what the deeper thinking at the time was.  by the time it's resolved, won't all the old nazis will be dead anyway?

i think you are missing the point. no one is talking about international law or talking about changing it since deportation is an individual country's avenue of getting rid of undesirables.

this has to do with  what we should be doing and not blindly applying a strict law and order mentality.

david johnson

isn't the point that you want to change something?
if you object to what's going on, and want a chance at changing it, you should be sharing you views with your legislator, the hague, and the nazi hunters.

dj

archaeologist

you are a thread killer and you missed the point.

david johnson

you don't want to change anything?
i am innocent of any kind of murder ::smile::

dj

archaeologist

no, changing a law or contacting the congressman is not the issue here.

david johnson

what other avenues will you use?
