What do you that is going to win?

God bless,
Basherbelding

David.

(Archuleta, unfortunately.)

Jimbob

I figure he has the granny vote, and they're saying that the audience for AI is older than it used to be.  I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that so many of the coaches/theme nights are trending old?  Maybe if they'd had a Hannah Montana/Jonas Bros night...::doh:: ::doh:: ::doh::

segell

I figure Archuleta will win (I just want to pinch his nostrils).  Cook and Syesha don't need to win.  I figure their respective careers have - in essence - been mapped out.  Now, young David - I wouldn't buy a ticket to see him but I bet a lot of teeny boppers would.  I mean, Mylie Cyrus????  I don't think she is very talented but a whole bunch of people do.

Syesha will probably go next week and then the David's will battle with young D. having the greater number of enthusiastic repeat callers for the victory.

Allegiance

I like Syesha....but do not think she can win. I hope so, but the Davids are well liked, however both Ds are well-liked and great singers. Either way it goes, people will be happy(and sad for th other one) but both Davids could end up with a recording contract, as has happened other times.

Jimbob

Well, that was predictable as a self-winding Seiko.

spurly

The young David should take it.

marc

Archuleta still bores me, although I thought he did the Billy Joel song well.  I figure he'll win, though, and Cook will sell more records.

Big Mike Lewis

David Cook will win. He's had it wrapped up for weeks. Even though he tends to sing out of tune, people like him.

Hollywood will eat Archuleta alive.

Ewigkeit

My wife used to watch American Idol, so I would sit with her through that show.  In our opinion, Carie Underwood is the only time they ever got ity right in the end.  I don't bother with the show anymore, since I feel it's too limited in its scope.  If I were going to watch a talent search show, it would likely be America's Got Talent, where every kind of performing art is included, including classical dance and classical music.

Allegiance

People seem split about Archuleta or Cook, whoever wins though, deserves it; they're both talented.

poohgirl

I watch American Idol and David Archuleta has been my favorite since day one.

I have been voting for him faithfully the last few weeks too.

All I can say is go David Archuleta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our house thinks Archuleta nailed it hands down with his performances tonight.
Yep, I think he clinched it last night.

Allegiance

I like both Davids, but Cook I like more, just style of music really. Yes, Archuleta stole the show last night, he might win because of it.

marc

fwiw, Dial Idol is predicting an upset.

Jimbob

Could be, but considering it's been a perceived neck-in-neck all season, would either one winning really be much of an upset (aside, that is, from the judges' remarks last night)?

It seemed to me Archuleta clinched it last night, but only because I thought Cook was just off his game 1/2 the night...lots of bad notes, including one that he held forever that nearly sent my foot through the surround sound box to make it stop the hurting.   But, one bad night isn't necessarily enough to stop a fast train.   I guess I'm saying it would be unexpected, but not at all surprising if Cook won instead.

An upset to me would be if they brought back Sanjaya or Danny back to sing!

Imabear

My daughter voted for DC.  (this is the first time she voted.)
She thinks DA is too young, and the songs he chose were too soft, and slow, with not enough energy.

There was a wrong note/chord played by one of the instruments during DC's performance.  We did here a few missed notes,  but our TV is 20 years old and has no surround system, and was not on very loud, so we might have missed some.  My daughter likes DC's style and more energetic songs.

OldDad

12 million vote margin of victory for Cook is not an upset - it's an old fashioned country rear end whoopin'...

The water cooler on the net is that the judges - especially Randy Jackson - went too far overboard praising Archie Tuesday night... Heck, I thought Randy was going was going to run up on stage and french kiss the kid!

It was good seeing my man Michael Johns getting some serious face time tonight!

seekr

Yea!! I knew he would win. I didn't even understand how they could compare the two David's. I liked DA well enough but he didn't have the powerful vocals like DC.

I think I got a little too caught up in it but I loved the emotion of it.   ::clappingoverhead:: ::clappingoverhead::

Both will do well, but Cook had done better alltogether this season I think, and Archuleta was really talented, but young. Seeing how great he is at 17, he has a bright musical career ahead.

spurly

America got it wrong.  The other David should have won.

segell

My wife and I thought the vote was spot on!

OldDad

I thought Archuleta had a great voice - but he can only really sing one type of song.  Everything from "Imagine" to "Think of Me" came out sounding the same.  He also blew his lyrics TWICE during the season, extrememly unprofessional - if he had been anyone else the judges would have skinned him alive...

He's young enough to continue to develop and have a fantastic career, but he's nowhere near as ready as Jordin Sparks was last year.

So, au contraire, America got it exactly right - 12 million times over.

Jimbob

I'm good with the turn out.

seekr

I thought the same way. DC had a lot better range and he sang more like what an American Idol should.

Arkstfan

The criteria I use is this.

Would I buy a record of what I've heard this person do?

I bought 7 Cook performances from iTunes and one Archeluta. I would have bought 8 but Baba O'Riley wasn't made available in audio only.

sunflower1984

There just didn't really seem to be a comparison between David Cook and David Archuleta... I mean, you might buy an album by one of them (Cook) and you might pay to see the other one (Archie) on Broadway.  They are both great singers, but completely different in the type of audience they draw, it seems.
