Who will be there opening week to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? I can't wait, though I don't know if it will be possible for me to see it its first weekend. The combination of Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford is just so much fun!

I've seen all the other Indiana Jones movies and even lots of The Young Indiana Jones series. Anyway, how excited are you about this movie and let us know what you think when you see it.

Weeble

I'll be there Monday Night at the Drive In for Carload night!

I never got to see the others in the theater, only on VHS, so I'm pretty determined to see this one.  And it's good timing.  A brand-spanking new all digital cinema just opened up here.

The one with Heath Ledger playing the Joker...  "Batman-The Dark Knight"... the previews said May 18th.  I believe.

Correction...  It is July 18th.. bummer.  I miss read.

Bon Voyage

I will see all of these movies, in about four to five months, when they come out on DVD.

It looks cool, but the joker is freaky!

Yes, Batman and his enemies have come a long way from Adam West and the series in the late 60's! LOL.

I saw the Indiana Jones movie today. All I can say is I'll never doubt what was found at Roswell ever again.  ::whistle:: It's got alot of action and wait till you see the ending. I give the movie an "A."

Since I was too young to see the first 3 in theaters, I have told DH he has no choice but to take me on our anniversary (June 5). I'm almost as excited about it as I was about Transformers.

I still haven't seen the new Indiana Jones movie. But until I do see it I'll take comfort in the thought that I don't have to see it because I live it.

Indiana Jones kind of started off slow, but it picked up in the middle and overall it was a good movie!  ::smile::

It was good for someone who likes Indiana Jones.  I used to like Indian Jones a lot, but I don't think I watched one of those movies since the last one came out, and I was a lot younger then.  So when I saw this one, I thought to myself, "this is more geared towards kids" and then I realized that so were the others but I was a kid myself so I didn't notice that when I saw them, lol.

But it's standard "Indy" fare, an Indy fan would like it.  I don't think it's better than the others, but it's good.  I am very impressed with Harrison Ford doing that at his age, and he looks great for his age!! :)

I was very impressed with the movie overall. Harrison Ford has still got it, thats for sure. Its a shame they didn't bring Sean Connery back for this one though, and as much as I would have enjoyed seeing some of the other Indy Girls come back, the ending was satisfying (I don't want to spoil it).

I guess my only major concern with this movie was (once again) the larege presence of New Age teaching in the film. Anyone attuned to the Spiritual Awareness Hype at all will notice the theme running throughout. Not to mention that this movie is designed for kids, obviously to get them interested in these sorts of concepts at an early age.

Perhaps all the Indy films have New Age themes running through them; I was a big fan when I was a kid, but I haven't seen them since I got older, except for this new one. Regardless, I am confident that this particular film has more New Age in it than the others.

Nearly as scary is some of the pseudo-science they threw in, like magnets pulling gunpowder, etc.

The Indie apologists claim that the mysterious force only resembled magnetism in certain situations, and is not fully understood today, let alone in the Fifties.  [Sort of like "dark energy" or Lucas' "The Force."]

i am a huge indy fan, i have some indy collectibles and such, i didnt really techinically grow up watching them as i was more into the batman movies as a kid, but i got into the indy movies later on and became a HUGE fan of them. as for the new movie, i actually really enjoyed it! i was glad to see karen allen back and i liked how this was an action movie that wasnt offensive at all! no curseing, subliminal messages, etc. it was just a cool action adventure done in that old-fashioned style that i like! no stupid quick-cutting and mtv styled things, it was like the other 3 films only i must admit, i liked the others a bit better but this new one was just as fun and great to see Ford back for one last ride.

I enjoyed the most recent Indiana Jones. Of course some of the things that happened action wise was impossible, but quite entertaining. LOL
I've seen each IJ movie at the movies and makes me a little sad at Harrison Ford being so old now. Ah life... ::eatingpopcorn: He's still a great actor though! This movie way below his acting ability, but like I said a fun movie for what it is.

The pace was plodding.

The script was so formulaic that I had guessed the end somewhere before the halfway point of the movie.

The dialog was dull.

The action scenes weren't realistic.

And the premise was so outrageous that I never was able to fully suspend disbelief.

It was sad to see Harrison Ford as a shadow of his former self.

It was even sadder seeing Indiana Jones morphed from a cocksure young hero into a p-whipped old geezer.

This movie goes down in history as a cautionary tale for filmmakers about waiting too long to make a sequel to a hit movie.
