8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
9. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by you brotherhood in the world.

That verse has alway intrigued me BigDog. He is obviously talking to believing Chrisians there and warning them that Satan is capable of devouring them and is on the prowl, so beware!. Some would argue that isn't possible. It seems to me if it wasn't possible, why the warning? I do believe we are capable with the Holy Spirit to resist him as the passage says.

Your right some  do not believe it. Just like in the Jungle the youngest, and weakest animals get dragged down and devoured first.
