I have been widowed for over a year after a very great marriage of 43 yrs with my best friend and soulmate.  I know I am still grieving but it seems to be moving into a different phase now.  Mostly it is loneliness and longing to share with someone.  I have had friends tell me that at my age (63) I should just expect and be satisfied with companionship.  I want more than that, but I don't want to get so lonely and fall for the first man that comes along either.  I know that loneliness can make you do strange things.  Has anyone else on this site had or know of anyone that has had this situation.  Please keep me in your prayers.

I know people in their sixties and seventies that have experienced love in new relationships after losing a spouse.  You can fall in love at any age.   ::inlove::

Awww dellinw...I'm really sorry to hear that. I can't even begin to imagine.

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.  ::doh:: We don't stop having needs and feelings thing just because we hit a certain number. ::headscratch::

No, you don't want to rush into anything. Just put yourself out there and the right man will come along. ::smile:: Maybe not over-night...lol..but in the right time..you'll see.  ::cool::

I'll keep you in my prayers.

You are too old to love again when you are no longer capable of rational thought.

Don't give up hope.

Too old to love?  Only when the sun stops shining and the moon ceases to shine at night!

Never close off your heart...keep it open and God willing a special lady will walk through the door of your heart...and into your life.  God bless you.

My grandmother married her third husband (after spending 4 years as a widow) when she was 75 and he was 80, they met through a personals ad in the paper. They spent 11 happy years together before she died.

hi,

im also 63. my first husband died at 37 I was 36. No don't jump into a relationship because you are lonely. I made so many mistakes. i had 3 children and was afraid of life without someone.  I wish I could change things but I can 't.  Trust in God and he will see you thru.  If it is his will for you to meet somone he will send that person to you. Remember his will be done and not ours, because he knows what is best for us.  God Bless

uotei] I understand what you are going thru i am 63 also.  My first husband died at the age of 37.  I have been married several times since then and none of the marriages worked out.  I married for all the wrong reasons..Loneliness was one of them.  Trust God and put him first in your life and he will fulfill the desires of your heart.  He loves you and he will take care of you.  God Bless
