The author of love

1 John 4:16
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

This verse is one of many that describes Love and God as one.  I encourage everyone to reread all of 1 john 4, as it more completely explains God and love, however, this is the single verse that summarizes an exact point.
I quote this verse because a revelation that was given to me.  That is that God is Love, and to know God is to know love, and to know love is to know God.  Most amazing to me is that fact that the more we accept and work in God/Love, the more we comprehend Gods power, and the majesty of his love.
They will know we are Christians by our love.  I have too often met 'christians' that comprehend the idea of Jesus, and accept him because thats what they were taught.  To be a Christian is to continually share love, to seek out everything that would be loving, and to put your faith in love.
What is love.  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  If the God is love, and the Spirit is God, than the fruits of the spirit are love.  The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.  All is vanity outside of the work of love.
The revelation of Gods IS Love dawned on me further as I looked up God and Love in my bibles concordance.  As I studied deeper, hundreds of verses came together.  All pointing to one central truth.  God is Love, everything that is beautiful and good is built upon this love.

The reason for me writing on this board is because a beautiful thing has happened to me.  I have found the love of a beautiful woman.  We are committed to marriage, however, I can't make an official engagement yet.  I want to share with you a little of how it happened.
How did it happen.  Faith.  The faith in Love.  The faith in God that he will move mountains.  I didn't always see eye to eye with the concept of having intimate relationships.  I always figured women weren't worth it.  I would be happier living a bachelor the rest of my life.  Well I wasn't happy.  I'm ashamed to say that I have acted childishly in the past, in the things I said about relationships, and the way I lived my life towards many people.  But in my prayers I turned it over to God.  Asking for his forgiveness, his guidance, and his will be done.  Let me tell you, that is a powerful prayer when you ask God for his will to be done.
So God authored the most beautiful love story I have ever known.  God is our father, and wants his children to be happy.  He placed Emily in my life, and placed me in hers.  Emily desperately sought love, but the men she met all degraded her, made her feel worthless.  The poor fool who believed himself unlovable met the beautiful princes who had almost given up hope on happiness.  Only God writes such beautiful love stories.

So the words of wisdom from a jester.  Have faith in love.  Hope in beauty.  Cherish the friends you have, they are there for a reason.  Have patience, for it is the crucible which God uses to prepare our hearts for Love!
