I'll be 21 in a couple months right, and I have yet to be in a real relationship with a guy that really cares and is not playing games. Yes I am young, and have time but I think I'll be single the rest of my life if things like this persist. Look, last week I spoke with a guy that used to live on the same street as me that I haven't seen in years. I just wanted to say hi but he asked me for my number, I usually don't give it out but I figured since I kinda knew him it would be okay and I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I also kinda figured he probably wouldn't call anyway. But mind you I am so not interested in this guy at all. He called me the same night asking was I staying in and I told that was the plan, it was kinda late and I knew what he wanted.

He called me two days later telling me that he wants me to have sex with him and that's the only thing that he wants, I told him that I was a virgin and he told me to let him break that I also told him I am christian. I was like wow, you must not know who your talking to.lol. He proceeded to tell me that he hasn't had sex in four days or something like I was to be concerned. And the funny thing is, I really didn't even want to give him my number in the first place. I just didn't want to hurt his feelings. But I didn't even get mad, because someone like that doesn't even deserve to make me mad because he's nobody to me. But this is one of  many reason  why I decided to give up on guys, especially my age. They seem to think that they can disrespect me and don't seem to have any respect for themselves at all. I don't know why it is I keep attracting these guys. ::frown::

Amy

Wow. Totally understand you there. What a jerk.

I'm 16, and one night at work (a restaurant), there were these customers who were in their twenties, and this one guy would NOT stop flirting with me. One of the waitresses was joking around and said to them, "Are you guys giving her a bad time?" And he laughed and quietly said to no one in particular, "No, I'm trying to give her a good time." And when he was paying me at the register when they were leaving, he knocked one of my pens off the counter and said, "Oh sorry, I dropped your pen." So I picked it up, and put it back on the counter, and he said, "I just wanted to see you bend over." And then just before he left, he said, "By the way, I left my number on the table for you." Which he did, I saw. And it went in the trash with the rest of the garbage.

I can't believe the things people say and do sometimes. Keep faith though! There are some good wholesome guys out there!

Anonymous20

sigh. Jerks!. lol. I gotat give it to you for throwing his number in the trash. I hope you did it right in front of him.lol.  And I know there has to been some good guys out there. I just haven' t experienced them yet. Pray for me guys, pray for me.lol

Amy

haha, I wish he'd been there to see it in the garbage.

Hey, well good for you for having self-respect!! ::thumbup:: Sure, I'll pray for you! ::smile::

I remember those days as a  younger person meeting alot of creeps. YUK

I have to admit though, that I wasn't always looking in the right places or for the right thing.
There are  nice guys out there. Their not always easy to find but they are out there.

The only advice I can give is that  the most important thing is that they love the Lord. It's tempting to like someone and convince yourself that they will change lately and become a Christian eventually. While that may be true, it also is risky.

::smile:: I still beleive there enough good ones out there to go around.

I applaud you for doing the right thing and staying strong in the Lord!  Never let a guy talk you into compromising your virtues.  Sin has its price, and staying pure has great rewards.  I'm saying a prayer that as you save yourself for special someones that they, also, will be saving themselves for you.  God will allow you to meet one day and it will be worth the wait.  You are children of a King who deserve the best!

Yep! I don't settle for anything less. If I like someone who isn't an active Christian, then I settle for being friends and try to be a good influence on them as a Christian. ::smile::

Aww, thank you! And amen. I don't settle for anything less than what the Lord wants for me.

I think that it is not a matter of looking for the right guy, but a matter of living your life and finding a guy who won't cause you to change your life unless it is for the good of God. ::amen!::

I'm single because I don't talk to women, i'm too bashful.

Also, I'm neurotic, i have lots of crazy thoughts all the time that weigh me down and make it hard for me to be relaxed and lighthearted. Consequently, I never smile in public, i don't even look people in the eye.

And I don't go to God for help, because he hasn't helped me in the past so why waste my time continuing to ask? therefore I get mad at God and don't want to go to church. Christian girls find me too unspiritual, and nonChristian girls find me too 'square.'

It sounds like you don't like yourself much.  You should work on your self-image first.  It's hard for people to like someone who doesn't like themself.

Sit down and list what you want to be and do.  Then figure out how to get from where you are now, to those places.  When you accomplish a few of them, you'll start feeling better about yourself.  Even if you don't accomplish them, just the fact you're working towards them is great for your ego.

From experience.  I can be like that too.

Hee hee!  I have found nothing turns a sleazy guy off faster than quoting the virtues of virginity. It's like the anti-Viagra.

To Internationalelf:  Please read the book of Psalms. in particular:

Psalms 31:1 In Thee, O Lord do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in my righteousness,
Psalms 31:3 For Thou art my rock and my fortress; thereforefor Thy name's sake leads me, and guides me.
Psalms 37:1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers. neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Psalms 38: 1 Depart from evil, and do good: and dwell for evermore.
Psalms 38:21 Forsake me not, O Lord; Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
Psalms 39:7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in Thee.
Psalms 40:5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which Thou hast done.....
Psalms 25:2 O my God, I trust in Thee; let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
Psalms 25:17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring Thou me out of my distresses.

These are a few quotes that may help you.  But I need to take a break now, sorry.

love,

Sopranette

I feel like that sometimes too-- like why should I waste my time?? But I just have to keep reminding myself that sometimes God says no. You just have to look at the bigger picture. God will not always say yes -- it's like a parent...if parents say yes to their child's every little want, then the kid will turn out spoiled rotten. Hopefully that helps you :)

I'm only 18 and have dang near thrown in the towel as far as girls go! In last 6 months I've attempted three relationships. 2 ending with the girls cheating on me... and the other one just ended in disaster!
My biggest problem it seems is that I don't party or drink and therefore at my age girls don't consider me the cool guy! I have a lot of great things to offer. It just seems that girls my age don't notice them..

Seeking

Attempting three relationships in 6 months, assuming there's at least a few days downtime in between them, does not allow ample time to get to know someone, date, etc. before forming a relationship.  Perhaps you are getting serious too quickly?  It takes time to know someone well enough to decide you want to exclusively date them and have a true relationship.

Granted, being a woman with my share of bad dates with men, I still don't have a whole lot of respect for some of the stuff I see women do either.  Which only furthers my point - it takes TIME... Date some people, have fun while you search for the right one... don't settle in so soon.  It will happen all in God's time.  Instead of being discouraged, be glad you didn't lose a year or ten to the wrong person.

MoparMan2011

Yeah  I see what your saying... I might of been taking things to fast... and yeah now that you mention it I'M REALLLYYY glad I didn't waste a huge chunk of time with any of those girls... it just would of ended worse most likely! Thanks for the advice!

GOAT

Their many guys out there that will want only that.  It's like dealing with slick sales men all day.  They only want one thing and they will try many ways to go about getting it.  Many times they will come right out and say it and other things they will use smooth words, the classic " I love you ".  Anyway I feel like I'm about to go into a rant about how women are treated.. so I better not fall into that.

I have a few questions.  One are their real Christian women out there who honestly are seeking God?  Seriously it's like every day I see the same old women, dressing with sensuality in their hearts.  I suppose Christian women see the same thing daily, dealing with perverts and jerks.  I suppose what I'm wondering is where do I find these devoted women of God?  I have a feeling Christian women may be wondering the same thing, where do they find these devoted Men of God?

I wish I had the answer to those two questions.  The only hope we have is God.  That he show how will bring the right person into our lives.  All we have to do is endure the trials and temptations no matter how hard or unjust they may be.  Jesus endured for us, how can we not endure for Him?
