I think I'd wait for the new swastika to show its face before I pull a Third Reich analogy. Hey Charles, if it happens, I'll be standing right beside you gun in hand...but I'm not convinced that Pres-Elect Obama is any different than Clinton was at this point...and we're not nazi's yet.

And the video...I really hope that those young men mean what they say and take responsibility for their lives and become a valuable asset to society. If it took an African American President to inspire them, so be it, I still see inspiration to succeed. There's nothing wrong with pride in oneself. And not that this matters in the slightest, but I am a caucasian male, so I am not biased.

While I agree with you on pride, I think there's often a confusion of terms.  In the English language I think we need another word for "a healthy sense of accomplishment" or "self-respect" which is not the same as arrogance and conceit, but we use the same word to describe it.

Back in '92 I was half-heartedly arguing Clinton against Bush witha  friend who kept insisting on, instead of talking about issues, repeatedly calling Clinton a Communist.  I asked him why and he explained that "liberal" politics were simply the first step on the red brick road.  I said then, "okay, if that's true, then it's fair to call Bush a Nazi.  I don't think it's true, but it's the end result of the same logic."

He blew up. He said that no, it was not the same thing, and no one had the right to do such a thing!

I've seen this reaction over and over since.  Interesting, given some of the responses on this thread.

Not to mention what the response would be--or the fate of the thread would be--id someone started a similar thread about GW Bush.
