Does anyone know how to get Kool Aid out of wool?  I have a wool blanket that I got from my Grandmother, and the kids spilled cherry Kool Aid on it. :(  I used Shout and washed it right away, but most of it is still there. Thanks!

Once I spilt red wine on a wool carpet and a friend told me to scrub the area with toothpaste and water. I used a stiff toothbrush to scrub with. It worked.

Thanks, 1L!  I'll try it.  I don't want to use bleach on it, because it's naturally dyed.

I just love the name of that product. Most of us use shout when things like that happen, and some use a little clip too.

Sorry, I'm no help at the moment. I'll ask my mum, see if she has any suggestions.

I like Biz for treating stains.  I'm not sure if it would fade your quilt though.

Mum says she wouldn't scrub wool, you may harm it. She got out her Readers Digest "How to do just about anything", and photocopied a page for me. As soon as I find what I've done with it I'll try to give you the suggestion.

Thanks, all!  I don't have any Biz, but I'll get some soon.  I'll give Oxyclean a try today.  It's really good for organic stains, not sure about chemical stains, though.

You might try a little bit of rug shampoo for pet stains and odors.  I've found that it works on many stains.  I just "dab" a little on the stain and then flush the area with clear water.

Good luck.

Thanks, grace!  It's in the wash right now with some Oxyclean.  If that doesn't work, I do have a little bit of rug cleaner left, I believe.

If that doesn't work then soak the entire thing in cherry Kool Aid.

Or sell the kids on eBay.

Would that count as a baptism?

Oxyclean didn't work, unfortunately.  I used a combination of rug cleaner and pet stain remover now, and right away it took out about 50% of the stain.  I'm running it through a hot water wash to see if it will take out all of it.  Right now, it's an abomination of pink, but that's still better than that unholy shade of red.

Have you tried sheep urine?   I've never seen a kool-aid stained ovine.

I don't know about that.  I hazily remember seeing a chorus line of pink sheep doing the can-can, but that may have been the Nyquil talkin'.

The Pet stain remover/ carpet cleaner seems to be working, but there is still a distinct pinkish hue on the edge.  I'll give it another treatment.

The best solution would be to keep them out of the Politics section.  Way too much Kool-Aid being drunk in there.

Not me.  A bottle of Wild Turkey and I'm a-ready to post.
