Has anyone seen the movie or read the books?

OneLung

It's essentially a "love" story. An insult to the horror industry. A silly chick flick!!  ::faint::   ::puking::

marc

It's either real or it's a dream; there's nothing that is in between....

I gave you time to steal my mind away from me.

(oops....wrong 'Twilight')

bml1st

Dumb movie. A junior high girl's emotional rollercoaster highs and lows. Not a good vampire movie.

Belly

I admit, I don't get it. I have friends and family who went out the day the movie was released on dvd to get it for their daughters. Is it that good that teen girls are going crazy over it?

I was disappointed to see that my 16 year old niece who seemed consumed all day Thanksgiving with a book... was reading that.  Very disappointed.

MegaJedi

not seen it, but a friend bought me a copy so I will watch it when it arrives and tell you my thought.

I don't do emo pre-pubescent love stories.

karrietex

LOL too funny.

One) It is not early teens or preteens. The first book centers on a 17 yr old and a vampire who is 90.

Two) It is written a bit more towards teens but overall it is a good story and there is a lot of innocence in it.

Three) I didn't like the books because of the style of writing but the movie was not bad at all.

MegaJedi

My friend got the movie back (not enough stamps.) after talking to people who like these kind of movoes and hearing how they ruin the Vampire Lore I told her to just give it to someone else.  She understood.  So I will use my money next month for "The Day The Earth Stood Still"

I've never read the books which is strange, as usually I read everything and prefer to have read the book before seeing the movie, but I wasn't into the idea of "Twilight" until some friends dragged me to the movie. It was pretty good. Some parts were too sappy for my taste, but overall worth watching. I'm planning to see the second movie when it comes out, though not sure I'll ever get the books. If I can borrow them from a library I probably will.

Vampire stuff - I'm actually in the process of reading Bram Stoker's "Dracula" right now. It's a rainy, stormy day so just perfect for it!

sopranette

Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula follows the book very closely, and it's well done, too.  And yes, Jonathan is as seriously clueless in the book as well, which is why I imagine they picked Keanu Reeves for the part. ::crackup::

love,

I really despise vampire and ghost and goblin mumbo jumbo. I think that's why I like Twilight. It's a different spin on a common assumption!  I love it!  I'll admit, I watched the movie first, then the books. But- I'm glad I did. I love the books. They're very interesting and entertaining.

marc

I liked Twilight quite a bit, but I don't understand why people are talking about it now; it's 27 years old!

I have seen the movie
I thought it was just about a girl who wears less make up than her boyfriend who just happens to be a vampire
but i havnt got into it much.
Sorry to all those who may offend
