This is the whole joke with the ending ... Sorry.

Today's Joke...

Q: How does a home schooler change a light bulb?

A: First, mom checks three books on electricity out of the library, then the kids make models of light bulbs, read a biography of Thomas Edison and do a skit based on his life. Next, everyone studies the history of lighting methods, wrapping up with dipping their own candles.

Next, everyone takes a trip to the store where they compare types of light bulbs as well as prices and figure out how much change they'll get if they buy two bulbs for $1.99 and pay with a five dollar bill. On the way home, a discussion develops over the history of money and also Abraham Lincoln, as his picture is on the five dollar bill. Finally, after building a homemade ladder out of branches dragged from the woods, the light bulb is installed. And there is light.

Can we make it so that the mom and daughters are all wearing denim jumpers?

That seem to be the homeschoolers' \"uniform\" around these parts...

I know it's an excellent pun if I get a dry, cranberry or persimmon taste in my mouth and then I groan aloud.

It was goooood. Timing & all. Yeah!

Pretty good if I say so myself.

I think that would be a nice addition, overall... ;)

We are somewhat unique, aren't we?  My teenage son shared a good experience on the drive home from church last night.  They had a youth group \"back to school\" party last night and the youth minister asked teens from the different schools to pray specifically for the challenges set before them at each particular school.  The YM asked my son to pray specificallyy for the homeschoolers in the group.  He said, \"Dad, here are all my friends praying fervently about reaching out to their classmates with the gospel, avoiding the terrible tempations they'd face in the public school setting and all that.  What was I supposed to pray for, that we'd get along with our siblings and not falling asleep while studying?\"  I joined with him chuckling about the circumstances... he confessed that he thought he did lead a good prayer, nonetheless.
