Okay, this is going to be a long story so bear with me...

My friend moved in my town about a year and 2 months ago.  We have been great friends since then.  He has this sister that is 2 grades below us.  Last year was sophomore year and I didn't know his sister that well because she wasn't in high school.  Well, this past school year, our relationship has been growing...until now that is.

I started getting to know her better near the end of July.  We have so much in common and got along so well.  She can't "go out" with somebody until another year goes by, so I just wanted to be friends and have our relationship grow.  Well, she showed a lot of signs of liking me and...heck, I'll admit it, I liked her!  LIKED her.  Anyways, so we're getting along great, but come around mid-October, we go on a church youth group trip to another state to help the homeless and see what it's like in the inner-city.  There is this sophomore friend of mine that decides to flirt with her (or at least follow her).  Before we went on this trip, I think she may have seen me talking with some other girls, but I had no intentions of flirting with them, if I did.  Anyways, she decides that it's okay that this sophomore is flirting with her, maybe trying to make me jealous or something.

This is only the beginning.  Word got out that this sophomore friend of mine likes her...and she knows this perfectly well.  The flirting/talking/socializing/whatever between the two of them hasn't stopped.  That's not it either.  Now there is another one of my friends that is flirting with her, a home schooled freshman.  I guess I'm getting mad because it's pretty obvious that these guys are flirting with her, yet she doesn't seem to mind at all.  I've almost given up hope on her.  Almost.  This is the reason I haven't...

Between my 8th grade and freshman year, in the summer, God gave me a dream about the rapture.  At the end of the dream, I was in Heaven and I could only see this angel, who told me that she is my future wife in Heaven.  It has taken me up until a few weeks ago to realize that this angel, the description I remember, looks identical to this girl.  I believe that this dream is DEFINITELY from God.  Also, we were going to a Bible Quiz Meet a couple hours away today and she let her brother (aka my friend) and I look through her scrap book and there was this one picture of an angel...exactly how I saw the angel in my dream.  The picture was made not long after my dream.

Why is God doing this to me?  What does He want me to do?!?!?!

I don't think it was a dream from God, read Matt. 22:30 and you will see why.

the Bible does say that there will ne no marriage in heaven, but anyway if she is the one for you then it will work out no matter who else likes her. I seem to remember that you are very young so if she is 2 years younger then she probably isnt ready for that sort of relationship yet anyway, which shows why she is enjoying all of this attention and flirting.

Flirting is definately an ego stroke...It is always fun to give and recieve flirting.

Some make more of flirting than what it is...after all it is just flirting. Flirting isn't a relationship at all. It is the potential for a relationship of a romantic kind..or not depending upon who is doing it.

What you have yet to figure out is that she, as well as you, are reallistically too young yet for a serious, long-term, comitted relationship.  You and she may be great friends and feel some kind of romantic attraction to each other; (trust me...she does towards you as well) however you two are very young yet.

When you pick out a wife it needs to be centered on how she is going to help you with the ministry you have planned for God in the future. She needs to have a role of how she is going to gain and master the skills needed for that ministry. Otherwise a perfect disaster is in the making.  The ministry you are planning on needs to line up perfectly with your abilities and talents as God has granted you and her role is support along side of you in them.

That isn't to say that the two of you can't mature some together and grow together as you gain wisdom and age...but it can't be finding your place and position in life either.

You are young...and going through girls like I go through oil changes on my truck. That is a little fast. Keep your relationships real and positioned properly...maintain them but be careful about who gets to be in the smallest group of your most intimate friend circle.

Jesus had hundreds of disciples (around 200)...and of these two hundred he had 12 apostles. From these 12 he had three...and inside of these three he had John.

I highly reccomend that you do the same.

Charles and chosenone, I don't know what to say about me dream.  Maybe I remember wrong and she isn't my future wife in HEAVEN but here on earth.  I don't know.

JohnDB, that really spoke to my heart.  I need a strong, Christian woman who is fearless in helping me with the ministry.  I completely forgot about God and His plan for me that I was caught up making my own plan of who I thought was the best for me, not God.  I'll see how she develops in her relationship with God before I make the bold move.

JohnnO

Let's see. You're a junior and she's a freshman. She can't date for at least another year.

If you like her and want to wait for her. Then let her know that. She'll either say yes or get all weirded out about it. Either way you will know where you stand.

If she says yes then don't flirt with other girls and consider yourself taken.

If she says no (gets weirded out) then find someone else to like.

The important thing though is to not invest your heart already. You are very very young to be making what could be a life long committment. You have college to go through yet and the odds are very likely that the two of you will grow in different ways between now and then.

Have fun, but don't  decide on someone as "your future wife" when you are not old enough to make that decision.

(Been there, done that, broke my heart a few times. It's really not worth the pain. Wait till you really know what you want and can investigate who someoen really is and how they will fit in your entire life before you give your heart)

Thanks JohnnO.  I guess I just notice that a particular girl and I get along well and I get too caught up in it...

And as for future ministry. Who says that you're the only one who's going to have one? God calls women too. It could be that God is going to build you to be able to support her in the future in her ministry.

Let God call the shots. Always.
