Bro, if you were banned you wouldn't be posting anything.

Dear Butch, you're not listed as a guest, so I assume you're not banned. Are you having problems logging in, or posting? You were able to post here. Thanks.

When I try to log on on my computer it tells me I have been banned. I went throught the steps and cleared my cookies but still get the same message. I have posted these messages through my phone which was able to log on.

Dear Butch, I'm not sure why you're receiving those ban messages, but I will contact Admin and seek an answer to your problem. Thank you.

Delete the GCM cookies and then restart your browser.  I have to do that every once in a while.  Takes several tries sometimes.  (I have a Mac, and use Firefox and Safari browsers.  Have to delete cookies on both.)

cousin Larry, my post are hard to post, now I may have been banned (LOL). I think my husband just banned me to my room, for just being wretched. I am having a hard time posting.

admin

If it were a real ban your user name would not exist anymore so there would be no account for you to login to. You haven't been banned so please try what has been suggested and let us know if that works.

Would somebody please tell this old man what a cooky is. Such as Phoebe has refered to. ::smile::

From the Unofficial Cookie FAQ:

QuoteCookies are a very important method for maintaining state on the Web. "State" in this case refers to an application's ability to work interactively with a user, remembering all data since the application started, and differentiating between users and their individual data sets.

An analogy I like to use is a laundry cleaner's shop. You drop something off, and get a ticket. When you return with the ticket, you get your clothes back. If you don't have the ticket, then the laundry man doesn't know which clothes are yours. In fact, he won't be able to tell whether you are there to pick up clothes, or a brand new customer. As such, the ticket is critical to maintaining state between you and the laundry man.

Unfortunately, HTTP is a "stateless" protocol. This means that each visit to a site (or even clicks within a site) is seen by the server as the first visit by the user. In essence, the server "forgets" everything after each request, unless it can somehow mark a visitor (that is, hand him a "laundry ticket") to help it remember. Cookies can accomplish this.

More info than you really want to know can be found by clicking the link above.

Wow Nevertheless, it must be wonderful to have a brain young enough to not only know these things, but give analogies to explain them. I do think I understood that. You see, Walker and I both suffer from old age syndrome, and not only that we live at high altitude. Woe is us.   ???

Yeah, it must be wonderful. Unfortunately I can't claim this one, I just know how to Google.

Hey gang, I'm curious, let's say I have a disagreement with a moderator (doubtful at this forum, but has happened at Rapture Ready) and he gets mad and bans me.  I know I am not to argue with a mod in the topics but how can I appeal his ban if I can't post anymore?  Keep in mind, my past history with forums has been banning without warning (I gots a big mouth).

::headscratch::

That's okay, you don't have to answer if you don't want to, I was just curious.   ::frown::

Stucky you will be warned before you are banned here, if you do not head the warning, and do get banned then you will not be able to plead your case, so you will need to discuss with the mods if you are warned as to what your difference is.

Thanks Yogi, I appreciate your response.  So, if I receive a warning in PM from a moderator, and I disagree with it, I shuold appeal to the admin before I get banned because after I am banned I have no recourse?
