Hate to refer you to the previous discussion, but the thread was locked (???); although, the discussion was proceeding just fine.

Can anyone make a biblical argument with BCV?

Romans 1:19  Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

The following traits are those of those that did not glorify God when they knew him; do some Christians act out some of these things in their own lives also?

Romans 1:24  "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:" What possible dishonor can one do to their own bodies?

Romans 1:26  "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:" What can women practice that is vile? You need not answer that with too much information.

Romans 1:27  "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly," Just what things do they do that are unseemly. Please for those among us that may not get excited talking of these things, do not give too much information. Go to somewhere where they enjoy that also.

For some of these things, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. As to answering your OP, if you really do not know what is proper, it may be crude, but I do not believe God made us to act as dogs, and they do not even go to the extent some humans do out of lust.

Hello, something my husband said, when I spoke of the other locked thread. He said these subjects are hard for men, and their thought life. Are we not to be pure in thought, and speech? That is all I will say, but, what he said made me think about these topics being appropriate, when I would not read a book, or watch a movie with these subjects. I will say no more on the subject.

Whispering sweet nothings and telling your spouse how much they mean to you could be considered oral sex.

larry,
What does the homosexuality referred to in Rom 1:26-27 have to do with the OP?

If you are uncomfortable, then you shouldn't participate, but don't be so pretentious. There's nothing inappropriate whatsoever in regards to the current discussion, and certainly there is nothing impure.

So I would assume that you think sodomy of a man is wrong, but applied to a woman it is seemly? Is that what nature intended? It was not only the affection of women that was wrong, but their use of vile practices against nature also. Now would you defend those same practices they do to be applied to one's wife? Do you read that the practice of oral sex is normal in the Bible; is it the purpose of nature? Do Christians need copy the world that doesn't believe God?

You asked what is inappropriate about the discussion. To me there is no end to the ones that will push their cause on others. Do you personally practice these things? Do you need others to give you the OK to practice those things? It certainly does not seem normal as to the natural use designed by God to produce children. If you do need those practices to stimulate you, maybe you need medical help.

larry,
Let's examine your logic. You referred to what "nature intended" and the "purpose of nature." Well, nature intended a woman's breasts to breast-feed infants. That's their purpose. No unauthorized touching or kissing in the bedroom, right? Doing so would violate what nature intended and purposed. Agree or disagree?

It would seem that you are contending that oral sex is not "normal" and consequently sinful. Is that correct?
1. On what basis, biblically speaking, have you determined that oral sex is not "normal?"
2. Do you read that the practice of oral sex is abnormal in the Bible? BCV please.
3. How do you make the connection between oral sex and copying the world that doesn't believe in God? This correlation is particularly bewildering.

QuoteYou asked what is inappropriate about the discussion. To me there is no end to the ones that will push their cause on others.
Actually, I'm not pushing anything. I am merely asking for a biblical argument from those who would call oral sex between a married man and woman to be sinful. Prove your argument from the Bible. All I've seen thus far is mere opinion.

QuoteDo you need others to give you the OK to practice those things?
Nope, just challenging those who bind where God has not bound.

QuoteIt certainly does not seem normal as to the natural use designed by God to produce children. If you do need those practices to stimulate you, maybe you need medical help.
You're kidding right? Your argument is based on what "seems" right to you? So, if something "seems" wrong to larry, it must be sinful for everyone? Must be nice to legislate morality for the world based on what "seems" right to you. I think the Pharisees did that. It didn't turn out too well for them.

Do you realize that according to larry-logic a man cannot show affection to his wife's breasts because the "normal" and "natural" function of a woman's breasts is for breast-feeding infants? Do you realize that introducing breasts into a married couple's sex life IS a form of oral sex? Why is one form allowed and another forbidden?
Care to join me for my next medical appointment?

OkiMar:  rofl  This really seems to excite you doesn't it. First of all I did not say it was sin. I thought the question was seeking a biblical argument, and I can only give my opinion.

In seeking opportunity to promote what you think is normal for all, and then demanding BCV because of the preference of others, you are the judge. Why don't you come up with BCV to justify it? Of course that might take away the pleasure you seem to derive by talking of it.

Bon Voyage

Surprised no one has brought up Song of Songs.

"Dear Brother Gary, are you referring to Song of Solomon 2:3  As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste."  And just what does that scripture suggest to you?

There's a juvenile in every crowd I guess...even among Global Moderators. Sorry to spoil your adolescent proclivities, but I am not going to take the bait.

If you had read the linked posts in the OP, you would have seen where some members contend that oral sex is perverse and sinful. That is what I am addressing.

Seems like you are backtracking now. Anyone who reads your first couple of posts would come to the same conclusion. And that's okay. The biblical argument is not sustainable. Wise choice.

There are a great many "normal" human activities that the Bible is completely silent on and one cannot use silence to draw any conclusion.

Likewise there are many things that "the word" does that are "normal" human activities and just because something is a common human practice for all of history doesn't automatically mean that it is wrong.

In fact it seems as though you are using circular reasoning. Essentially you're arguing that oral sex is wrong because it is not natural. Yet at the same time you're acknowledging that it is a common human practice and has been throughout history so it is therefore "a worldly" practice and hence it is wrong.

And then since regular rational arguments aren't working you had to attack OkiMar personally instead of sticking to the issue. You accuse him of being some sort of pervert for asking a simple Bible question because only a pervert would want to know right? Using your same logic that would be like saying the only reason you're arguing against it is because you're sexually frustrated. Making it personal in either direction is absurd and not the best path for civil Christian discussion.

I assumed your OP was linked to your subject: "What is the biblical argument against oral sex between a married couple?" but of course why would it, huh? It seems too bad you cannot have evidence of Scripture to back a question you seem to be so assured of.

Okimar is looking for an actual biblical argument against this practice.   So far, no one (yourself included) has been able to do so.

I gave my opinions based on the practices of those who did such things among themselves in Romans 1:24-28. They practice sodomy and oral sex. God called it unseemly and vile. It seems the argument is that if the word of God does not say: "Thou shalt not," or "It is written," God is evidently for it.

My thoughts.

JohnDB

God didn't say anything about brushing our teeth...but many of us do.

God didn't say anything about using deoderant on a daily basis...but we do.

God didn't say whether the internet was wicked or evil or whether it was good...but we use it anyway.

Jesus did call the Pharisees Hypocrites (meaning actors) and yet many still go to movies and watch Television. But yet if you call someone a Pharisee you have insulted them highly.

I dunno what the thing about oral sex is...and really don't care.
I ain't gonna ask OkiMar for any and would ask the same of him...meaning I don't want him to ask me for any either.

What people do in their bedrooms is personal and private. And not subject material for this forum to be used later to browbeat someone with.

Sorry, I cannot help myself, is the big "O" trying to get people to have oral sex, and if so why? I think he wants to excite himself and talk dirty.

Is kissing on the lips "wrong" or "unnatural"? Okay, what about kissing the arm of the one you love? The tummy? The thigh? Not sure why kissing a vagina or penis would be wrong. God created them both. I see passages that condemn homosexual sex and can possibly entertain the argument that that also refers to anal sex. But I see no way to condemn oral sex using the Bible without speaking where God has not spoken.

If you study ancient Jewish texts and how Jewish people looked at Song of Solomon, oral sex was not looked at as sinful but as an enjoyable part of married sex. Lets not restrict what God created to be fulfilling and enjoyable. As long as it doesn't involve another person, it seems the Bible lets married couples enjoy each other's body freely.
