Lack of freedom at Catholic Forums?

banished

Hey guys,

During my week off I visited a few Catholic Forums.  The Catholic Moderators of those forums followed me around deleting my posts when ever I mentioned something negative about the current practices of the Church in America.   I only posted my honest experiences while dealing with the modern Catholic Church, and I did not attack the core values of Rome. The priest of the modern church have put conditions on whether they absolve sins, and those conditions reject the people most in need for absolution. We have ended up with the only sins absolved being made by children stealing cookies from the cookie jar.

The moderators of this Grace Centered Christian Forum are to be congratulated for their openness and honesty.  It would be interesting to know how many Grace Centered members have been given the boot at Catholic Forums, and why?

Don't be so worried banished. Since coming to the Catholic Faith from my Protestant background I have experienced exactly the same thing on Protestant sites. It seems most of them don't mind Catholic bashing, but when you come back at them, they suddenly get all upset and want to block you.

It seems they want the right to claim what they believe and put down others, but then believe it's "offensive" if people do exactly the same to them.

Fallen Knight,

Well, last night when I tried to check in to the the Catholic Online Forum I was greeted by the familiar pop-up, "You have been banned permanently". The moderators had been following me around during my week and a half deleting everything I posted that questioned the policies of the Catholic Faith.  I did not attack the core values of Rome. I responded to a poster from Malaysia who presented a couple of Bible verses for me, and I asked him if he knew anything about Joseph Prince from the mega church in nearby Singapore. I mentioned the sermon about domestic violence being linked to the un-assurance of forgiveness of sin. I didn't say anything derogatory like maybe that's why Mexicans beat their wives, or anything like that.  I just mentioned the topic of Joseph Prince's sermon, and nothing more. That was the my final deleted message which resulted in me being banned permanently.

Let me give you a brief rundown of my other banishments, so maybe Catholics can avoid problems with the Catholic Moderators.  I have been banned from the Catholic Answers Forum twice by the same Jean Anthony.  The last time for starting at thread about me not being able to have the last rites because a was legally married in a Protestant church. The first time was because I am a Charismatic.  I simply brought up the fact the Catholics and Protestants can pray in unity of the Holy Spirit because of the Protestant theology of Calvin called, "Soli Deo gloria ("glory to God alone")"  Charismatics move from glory to glory regardless of their denomination. The moderators couldn't put up with any connection with Protestants that involved Calvin and I was banned.

Here are the 3 Yahoo Catholic Forums that I have been banned from.  The Traditional Forum banned me for the same, "Soli Deo gloria" comparison with Protestants Charismatics.  Also, that I can sing in the Spirit during the Gregorian Chants. The second Yahoo banishment for responding to a question about confessions.  I simply told the gal who had an abortion not to confess her worst sin first and let the priest chop her off. That it would be a better tactic to break her confession into segments over a period of several weeks saving the worst for last.  That way she could have her other sins absolved.  The third Yahoo banishment was when I pointed out that Jesus point back the the creation when asked about marriage, and not forward to the Catholics Sacrament. (Matthew 19:4-6) I pointed out that marriage is a creation ordnance, and not a sacrament of any church.  I got the boot from the third Yahoos forum for posting that.

Anyway, have a happy Thanksgiving.  My mother is ninety-something now, and still brags about me being a Catholic. We will all be at her house for Thanksgiving dinner.

Like Fallen Knight I've found several Protestant Forums that are extremely hostile to Catholics.

I've never heard of the Yahoo forums before but I started posting on Catholic Answers. It is (in my opinion) rather over populated by the more "traditional" wing of the Catholic Church who tend to be hostile to Charismatics (Catholics or otherwise).

A good forum for all opinions is Christian Forums. There are sections for various denominations but also very lively debates in General Theology. There is a also a section for Catholic Charismatics (no debate - friendship only). That's a well moderated forum.

True To Ourselves was founded by Catholics but is run by a groups of pastors from different denominations. I think that is well moderated as well.

I used to be involved in Catholic Charismatic Renewal but I have more or less dropped out now.

LoL, I didn't join that board because I thought they were not orthodox enough, I joined another more conservative Catholic one.  Oh, well, we are a big Church.
