Yes, over the course of the whole reading cycle, the whole Bible is read in the missals.

You might have to define "reading cycle."  He might not understand what that means.

I'm afraid of confusing him again, but suffice it to say, DAN, that it is a three year cycle.  Readings from Holy Scripture are divided up and given by the calendar date.   That is why I said that as an example, at Mass today, the readings were...

First Reading: Second Samuel 7:4-5, 12-14, 16
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 89:2-3, 4-5, 27, 29
Second Reading: Romans 4:13, 16-18, 22
Gospel: Matthew 1:16, 18-21, 24

...that is how it is done.  Each sermon usually is directly linked to the day's readings.  Each time it will be different until eventually, the entire Bible is read.

Thank you for clarifying. What threw me was the word "Missal,"  [singular] now you have made it clear its Missals [plureal]

Hi!

Former Catholic here.  That's quite a hit-and-run.  Some sort of explanation seems in order.

In Christ,
Nancy :)

Thanks for the welcome!

Missing is his reason for believing that "Catholicism is a heretical lie derived by satan to mislead the church of christ".  It's quite a loaded statement.  A bit much to just leave as is.

In Christ,
Nancy :)

Covered by Rob in reply #2. I think gothruchrist lost interest in the thread a long time ago. Looks like a "hit and run" OP.
