1 Corinthians 6:9-11

9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Matthew 18:6
6But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Luke 24:46-48
46He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48You are witnesses of these things.

1 Corinthians 1:23
23but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,

yes keep your attention away from the sins of the vatican .

thats what they want .

what would happen if Catholic people cared enough and  held them accoutable for their sins so they truly repented?
they would be saved ----- and the catholic church would be a bright light once again  pointing only to  Jesus .
the popes would disappear and your pastors would be able to Marry Have wives and kids of their own  .

and truly understand how awful child molesting is to the young child being molested.

instead of the covering up the offences against these "baptized" into Christ -- little ones.

you surly have one or two pastors that understand the proper use of the keys .
and that they do not belong to the pope but the church which is "you "
and theses pastor of yours  surly can use them on your behalf.

Well thats pretty dumb to say.

"Hey I murdered five people but the guy next to me murdered fifty. I dont have a problem."

Thats pretty stupid anyway you slice it.

Instead of countering you pointed a finger at someone else. Childish

And besides Catholicism is singular while Protestant covers an entire range of wackos who assume the title of chrristian.

Whats the worst part is that excathedra believes in the catholic church. He just wants to purge it of the corruption it has fallen to.

Try tackling the actual topic.

I was.

I didn't saty there wasn't a problem or that what happened wasn't wrong. But the attacks on the Catholic Church try to make out is something specific to the Catholic Church, which it isn't.

Yes, there is corruption in the Catholic Church, and it does need fixing. And it is being fixed. But, serious as it is, it is only a very small percentage of priests that have been involved in this.

I'm just saying - get it in proportion.

Sam Miller is wrong, on both counts.  I proved it in another thread, I'll see if I can dig it up.

The RCC cannot be purged anymore than Christianity as a whole can be purged. if a man is drowning in a lake he cannot be saved by another who is also drowning himself. The corruptions exist through out Christiandom. What Ex Cathedra wants is to take a part of the church that he believes represents the church and purge it leaving the rest of the church to well we don't know. There is only one who can purge his church and he has not come yet, but when he does he will separate his bride and the rest shall be destroyed. This will not be a denominational thing nor a Protestant catholic thing. It is not possible for man to save  from himself. As long as sin is in the world there will also be corruptions in the church. Just saying

God bless
