If the Catholic church leaves, so does the Protestant church

We that are in union with Christ, are of one body, the hits that the Catholic church receives, also are of the same for the protestant churches.  If we are attacked directly, know that the protestant churches will also be attacked immediately afterwards.  If we are no longer in existence, then it will be a sure bet, the protestant churches will fill the roll of punching bag.

The Protestants don't have to leave. They can continue teaching and preaching their version of Roman Catholicism as they have always done (having been influenced so much by Roman Catholicism's legalism and scholasticism).

Protestantism is what Roman Catholicism begot.

You missed the point here, once we are done away with, "which will never happen since Christ said the gates of hell will not prevail against his church"  if we are driven totally underground in this model, know in full, the protestant churches will be also facing the same degree of persecution, for they are also followers of Christ.  We are one in the same in this matter, on this boat, and it's time we realize that working and defending one another is mandatory in the here and now, one goes down into persecution, so very much does the other.

It is already happening...there is persecution against both catholic and protestant Christians all over the world.  Even in the good ol' U. S. of A.!

Quote.....driven totally underground in this model.....

Maybe a "model" can be "driven underground". But the mystical fellowship hid in God from the beginning of the ages can not. (Ephesians 3)

Not only did men not know of God's mystery, neither did the angels. They hear of it from men. This is because the Church affects all elements of creation, from the material to the immaterial.

The united, renewed humanity made possible by Christ is the basis of the reconciliation of the heavens and the earth. Therefore, the Church ascends above the angels, the principalities and powers.

Even more reason to work together now, not against each other.  We have a common foe, the secular mentality that's becoming far too common in our society these days.

I couldn't agree more!  The church is under attack by the world and we are too busy fighing each other to notice.

AMEN!!!! ::preachit::

As I've said in another post, I look at all the different Christian religions as brethren that just worship where they are comfortable. There are misgivings about every religion. But at the end of the day, we all worship the same one true God, believe that Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross for our sins, and believe in the Holy Trinity which is the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. ::nodding::

To me its kind of like how we hold our hands when we pray. Some clasp their hands together like a ball. Others always hold their fingers straight up. Some just bow their heads. But its all praying. God hears them all!

Discussions are wonderful among the different religions because some have never been introduced to another's way of worship. Asking questions and figuring out where you are comfortable is great because that means that at least you are "somewhere" in your walk with Christ.

To all my fellow Christian brethren, I love you all and pray that we can all sit & have a cup of coffee in Heaven one day!
