What does the WAY mean in Acts 18:26 ?

  Hi to all , and in Acts 18 , we have Apollos preaching .  

But in verse 24 , that Apollos was  Eloquent man .

Mighty in the scriptures !

Instructed in the  way of the Lord !

And was  Fervent in the Spirit !

And knew only the Baptism of John , and that meant John , the 12  Apostles , were preaching the same message , Repentance as Baptism !

And in verse 26 , Apollos is in the synagogue  preaching  to Jews , not to Gentiles , right ??

Then in verse 26 , Aquila and Priscilla , took Apollos aside , as not to embarrass in front of all ,  and  Expounded  
  THE   WAY  of  God to him  MORE  perfectly .

What I see here is a change in Message .

 #1 ,  Apollos was first preaching Baptism , I believe he was from what verse 25 reveals !!

#2 , Then , in verse 28 , Apollos is Vigorously refuting the Jews  publicly , showing from the scriptures that Jesus
to be the Christ  which means  MESSIAH .

 THE   WAY   , is the Gospel of the Grace of God .

Dan now that you are stating to get the ideal of what is going finish following it to the conclusion that the spirit is teaching. Yes Apollos was teaching the beginning gospel as see in Mark 1 but as you noted Aquila and Priscilla took him aside and finished teaching him the fulfilled gospel that is being taught today as you noted they taught him more perfectly or completed gospel that Jesus died on the cross to fulfill it is now the spirit baptism that Jesus was to baptize with that was given his name as you see clearly in chapter 19 where Paul baptizes those in the name of Jesus Christ so they to can receive the spirit that was not given in the baptism of John but is in the more complete baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, As Peter taught in Acts 2 when he first opened the doors all coming into the church to this day still come in the same way under the gospel of grace that Peter first preached on the day of Pentecost  The spirit had it recorded here for all to see and as the spirit speaks to those that have ears to hear please hear what the spirit says..

Consider this perspective, that the baptism of John and the baptism of Jesus were different things.  Jesus instructed them to baptize "In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" whereas John's formula was not Trinitarian, calling simply for repentance.  So perhaps Apollos was preaching the same message (which is still one of repentance, as John taught) but was using the wrong formula, possibly unaware of the formula that Jesus instructed of the apostles in Matthew 28.

Hi yogi bear , and Gal 1:12 says that what Paul taught , " For I neither received it of man , neither was I taught it , but by the Revelation of Jesus Christ and to me , that means Jesus did not nor the 12 teach him , but the Risen  Christ .

So , what Aquila and Priscilla taught Apollos , fro what is seen in verse 25 is a different gospel , because that what Apollos knew , Johns Baptism and that means Repentance   and Water .

By the way , where are there Gentiles in Acts 2 ??

Hi Visionary , so how many ways can 1  John 3:4 , that if you sin you transgress the Law ?

This is the Law of Moses and if you it is not , which is it that Transgress the Law ??
