This is discouraging. I have always beleived that all the bad things in my life happened to me because I deserve them. I don't know how to survive except to endure it.

Masondog,

It is true that being long-suffering is a Christian virtue.

But to find fulmillment, contentment, happiness for yourself you have to find a balance of what is appropriate for you.  Some people should face the natural consequences of their actions.  That means some people will find themselves alone because they are too toxic to be around.  Their family may love them but just can't stand to be around them.

Bad things happen for many reasons.  I sin, other people sin, we live in a fallen world (illness occurs, tragedy occurs), and the devil lurks.   But it just isn't that you deserve bad things.   To break out of this mentality of "just survival", you can get a hold of few good books or work with a Christian psychologist / therapist.  You will have to take responsibility, be assertive, reject passivity.  (This is part of mantra from Men's Fraternity)

Hi guys! Just checking in. Still trying to get divorced. Crazy wife keeps finding ways to delay court. The Borderline personality fears abandonment more then anything although they drive everyone away. Since I moved out, our 20 year old daughter met a boy and in less then a week of knowing him accepted his offer for marriage. They were married July 8th. Good for her! Poor girl has been twisted and manipulated by her mother all her life. Our daughter would parrot her mother's hateful words at me and when her mother left the room, cling to me and tell me she loves me.
When I get the kids, we have a blast and my life is complete. When they are with their mother, it grows quiet and I contemplate life and seek for answers from God. Been going to a family and marriage counselor to help root out the reasons I am attracted to crazy women. Yep, there has been more then 1, or 2 or so. Still living with good old Mom and Dad. Hopefully we can wrap this up in a few more weeks, months, chop myself free from her tentacles and see where my fiances are going to be. Then I hope to buy a home. I have a house, but it is rented out and too far from town to move back into, plus the renters are great! (giving credit to God for such super renters.) Everywhere, I can see the Lord's hand on my life. I am learning to trust Him in times of seeming hopelessness, and I seek to diminish me and my wants.
