Indeed, that is a strange view to hold.  I would rather die a martyr than slipping on a bar of soap sure, but before I chose either of those options, I'd ask my enemy to be the martyr.  well, "ask" may not be the correct word here, but you get my point...

Why die for a cause when you can live and continue fighting for it?

Because God is Sovereign. I can't die unless God says so.  I believe that I won't live a day longer than God allows....nor a day less.

Back to Deborah's question about Glen Beck talking about preparing for things to come, other than buying guns I am learning to be a better gardener and would like to learn to can my own veggies.  I do know of some people that are outfitting their homesteads to be self sufficient.

Are there others that you know, or you yourself that are learning how to feed yourself and can food?  With prices of food going up so much, it seems to me it would be a good idea anyway.

We have got the prettiest tomatoes than I have ever grown, and the burpless cukes and hot peppers are wonderful!  My Mom is going to teach me to make pickles out of the cukes, hopefully we will remember how my Grandma use to pickle tomatoes, delish!
