John 13:8-10
8   Peter said unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou shalt have no part with me.
GENEVA

Everyone needs to be washed by Jesus. Our sins remain if He does not wash us.

John 13:9-10
9 Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also the hands and the head.
10 Jesus said to him, He that is washed, needeth not, save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
GENEVA

In verse 8 (b) Jesus tells Peter that unless He washes Peter he will have no part of Him. But verse 9 and verse 10 makes it clear that Peter has been washed completely, yet Jesus still has to wash his feet if Peter is to be part of Him.

The message is clear. Unless you continue to let Jesus clean you salvation is lost.

I'm sorry for some reason I was having problems when I tried to post. I clicked the post and nothing happened. The above is my post for both new topics.

not sure I get what your teaching...salvation is continues, a one time wash of 'the feet' as you put it. Do we need to continue to confess our sins, and mature in our faith (sanctification), yes, but when I am filled with Gods Spirit, I am adopted into His family, He does not kick me out because I get my feet dirty.

There is a lot of people that believe OSAS. But in John 13:8 Jesus states that He must wash Peter's feet if Peter is to be part of Him. The book of Hebrews is almost entirely given over to Jews that wanted to return to the Levitical sacrificial system. If they did so they would lose salvation thru Jesus and rely on their works. They wanted to rebuild what they had destroyed.

But you are right. God doesn't kick anyone out. They leave of their own free will.
