Genesis 6:1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Daughters were offered to the angels here;

Genesis 19:1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. 2 "My lords,

As for male and female...male doesn't represent authority, nor does it supersede female.
Lively is correct.

Male represents the creative process of Formation.  By way of contrast, female represents the creative process of Instantiation.

I disagree that male does not represent authority. Divine order such as what came first has greater authority 1 Tim 2:12-13 In scripture the male always had greater pre-eminense over the female not because females are inferior but they represent God is order of authority. Adam had greater authority as we can see according to the above scripture and therefore man as in male.

So a son was better than a female for authority reasons, not worth.

It is a mistake to equate chronological order with hierarchy. Erroneous thinking like that has coloured culture after culture that have missed what God has planned for the world, and have missed what Jesus set in motion to correct.

What Bittersweet is desperately trying to claim as truth but is grossly mis-informed is that the Book of Enoch is actual scripture.

Book of Enoch
Chap VII

1)It happened after the sons of men had multiplied in those days, that daughters were born to them, elegant and beautiful.

2) And when the angels, the sons of heaven beheld them they became enamored of them, saying to each other, Come, let us select for ourselves wives from the progeny of men, and let us beget children.

Sons of heaven is not the same thing nor is it inferred to be the same thing as "Bene Elohim" or Sons of God. It is very poor scholarship to take a known fictional work of that time period, that everyone knew was fiction in that time period, and make scripture out of that book. Very much the same as taking the Left Behind series of books and making them scripture 2,000 years from now...an obvious error.

One only has to look to John 1:12 to find what a real son of God was. The number of this word in Hebrew is 153...the same number of fish in the net at the tail end of John's gospel referring to the large fish in the net. (and not one was lost)

Also in the lost pasage in Deuteronomy that was later discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls again the reference to the Bene Elohim/Sons of God is again seen and is of much better rhythm and cadence than what is customarily read in that passage. (in Hebrew of course)

Also...one other little point.
Jews were not allowed to marry anyone they wanted. (all of the Torah shows the patriarchs following and instilling the Law or else they were destroyed.) None of the priestly class could marry any wife they wanted to...only those specific to their tribe or function. (priests of God)

No one could marry those that were midianite, or kenite, or whateverisite.

and as they were all doing that they were essentially abandoning their posts and resorting to violence. That is what Genesis 6 tells us. Nothing more.

Here's a scripture for ya:

Galatians 3:28
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Holy Spirit doesn't differentiate when He is blessing with gifts. He expects us all to develop them and use them, and not to allow anyone to bar the way. All believers are united with equal authority. Whose authority? Jesus'.

But that is referring to Earthly Authority...it has absolutely nothing to do with what is going to be in Heaven.

And that is the point of the OP...Male and Female roles in Heaven.

Personally,
I think where the former roles of male and female will exist in HEaven...there won't be any sex in Heaven. On Earth I am a man and responsible for the roles as a man I must take...but when I get to heaven part of my identity in being male will still exist but radically not relevant.

Just so you know. I believe all of scripture... ::smile::

Lets be real. Interpretation of scripture is by the holy spirit and scripture agrees with scripture in entirety. I believe Gods word completely, even the bits I do not understand. ::cryingtears:: But you said, "There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus." I agree, but that does not wipe out the truth of scripture the order of creation signifes authority.

Are there any Jews? Yes Are there any female? Yes but this is talking about equality not authority. Does a husband have authority? Yes. Women also has authority over her husbands body and in reverence to Christ they submit to one another but the final call is with the husband. He presents his wife to Christ. The wife does not present him to Christ Eph 5:25

1 Cor 11:3 so you see authority exists and is different among genders. But it in no like the world, Lording it over. Authority serves, protects and enables.

We are all one body and each is a member. We are equal. We need each other.

Authority is a beautiful thing not a bad thing and Godly wisdom enables us to submit to it.

(I hope you get what I am saying, not attempting to take away your freedom in Christ.) ::angel::

Of course it represents earthly authority but it is a heavenly principal that is why Christ has to be first to have preeminence over all. (Scripture if you need it)

The topic of the discussion for this thread is will there be different sexes in Heaven.  It does not address male authority over female, nor any such variance.

Stay on topic, or if one wishes to discuss/debate "male authority", start your own thread.

As for the thread topic, yes there will be male and female in heaven. We will be perfected in our personhood.

p.rehbein

continued comments addressing male authority over females will result in thread being locked.

The topic youall are trying to discuss is a reasonable topic and worthy of discussion.  One of you start a thread and discuss it to your heart' content.  Not on this OP.  Stay on topic, or I will begin to delete off-topic comments.  Do not entetwine the two in an attempt to discuss male authority.

Thank you. I was not primarily discussing male authority I was illustrating a point. I was talking about "first things" and the importance. Jesus is preeminent in all things why? He was the first. Acts 26:23 1 Cor 15:20 Jesus refers to 'in the beginning' when settling disputes. In scripture male and female are not an issue like today. Male and female are referred to as sons.

In heaven our bodies will be changed. Reproduction is of the earth, it is physical. Spiritual reproduction is not sexual. Females were created to be a helper, comfort and reproduce. We do not need that in heaven. (Please do not read into what I am saying in any way to belittle women, I am not. Just talking about scripture)

p.rehbein

INJ:  I understand fully what you are saying and did not believe you were trying to belittle women.  However, male authority over female is not relevant to this OP (IMO).  It is a good topic, start a thread and discuss away!  I assure you, you will have many responses...............

As to being "as the angels of heaven," that doesn't necessarily mean that angels don't have gender.

There are several OT passages that would seem to indicate that angels do have a gender.

Jarrod

You say that there are several scriptural examples without offering us at least one to consider. Hebrews 1 says that angels are ministering spirits.
