I have been single for a while & I am really just starting to "date" if it can be called that....

I am older so I am way, way out of the loop as to dating & all that but I have joined a couple groups one mostly Christian the other just an activity group..

I also have tried some of the online "dating" meet boards & most ppl are not Christian.

I joined one that was strictly Christian but I didn't feel paying was good...

Anyone had experience w/ these online boards??

I have it clearly stated I am a Christian so I really don't get a lot of responses but I wonder if this is not what I should be doing??

I started doing some volunteer stuff & have meet others but no one I am interested in.....

????????

comfy

I'm older . . . and I enjoy each person who is a Christian. And I do not search or pursue, but see how we are growing together.

Jesus wants us to love every person; so if I am in a site, God wants me to love everyone, not just pick and choose who I decide is worth my attention. But I pray about how much time and writing etc. I give to each one, considering how and if each one keeps on writing.

So, I need to not judge anyone, but be interested in each one and see how we develop together or not. But if I get a total stranger message with no way to check a profile, I do not just press a link or write to an e-mail. I have an in-site pen pal place. And I stopped using the place where I could get endless "smiles" and "hearts" and "hi's" and "touches" or whatever they all were  ::frustrated:: with no real communicating; that took up too much time.

And it says, "be content with such things as you have," in Hebrews 13:5. So, through this scripture I get helped to be satisfied with what I really have with each person, including pray for God to guide me according to all He knows is really true and all He wants, and not just judge by general rules and my own ways of seeing things.

Each person is unique; so I'm not so sure we should be acting and evaluating with people, only by general ideas and rules about what has to be true about people and what always to do or not to do . . . discover with each one ::smile::

I was on Christian dating sites for 2 years before I met my husband and married 6 years ago. My son and my older daughter both met their partners(one is married and one is engaged) on a Christian dating sites, and my daughter has three very good friend who met their spouses this way. For Christians it is a good way of getting to know other believers who we would never otherwise meet. Most churches here in the UK arent that big and the numbers if single people are very small unless we look more widely afield.
If you dont want to pay, what does that say about the importance of meeting someone? The better ones arent the free ones. The free ones attract all sorts including spammers and conmen and women.Pay for a good Christian site is my advise. By the way there are many more woman than men on these sites so you have more choice than us females.

Not its not weird or wrong. No more than meeting someone at church, or at work, or anywhere else is weird or wrong. I know a couple who met at a bus stop! God knows all about the internet(yes He really does!!!) and He can and does use it to bring 2 people together. In a world full of technology its a great way to meet people who we never would have many years ago, when we were more limited to those who lived very close to us.

Yes I did meet my husband (my second husband) nearly 7 years ago on line, and we have been very happily married for nearly 6 years. We were both in our late 40's. It did take me 2 years of being on Christian dating sites for it to happen, so be patient, but as I said, men seem to find women far more easily, due to the disparity in numbers of Christian women to men. My husband had only been on line for a few days when we met, and I was the first lady that he had been in contact with(yes I snatched him up fast).

My son went on another British Christian site, and not long later had 30 girls wanting to get to know him. (He is very good looking.lol) He felt led by God to contact the first girl who had messaged him,  even though she wasn't by any means the nearest, and 2 years later they married (last April). She is a lovely girl and they are perfect for each other. Isn't God amazing? My daughter met her really nice and godly young man a year ago and they are getting married next April, a year after her brother. This was on the same site.
One of my best friends sons(also a Christian)also met a lovely girl on line a few months ago, and things are going really well, so we are all hoping for wedding bells maybe next year. lol. (His mum is very excited!)

It doesn't work for everyone of course, but as long as you take care and be aware of the scammers and con men/women you should be fine. Definitely worth spending out a bit on a good Christian site though.

Also Christian singles groups are good. A man I chatted to on line years ago went on a Christian singles holiday. He was the only man out of about 25 people there. Might be worth checking out?

God Bless

Awesome testimony........... ::clappingoverhead::

I guess it is me, out of the loop.....lol

I feel much better about it & I am actually going to meet her tonight @ a local restaurant...

I have talked to her on the phone an hour or two almost every night for the last week or so & I think we have a lot in common personally & theologically..

She is well grounded in the faith so it is fun talking to her & seeing her insight & perspective...

I will talk to you & let yea know how it goes......

ThnX for your support & blessing, you have been very helpful.......

yes please do let us know. You do need to meet in person to see if you 'click' but its good that you are meeting up quite quickly.Sometimes people communicate by internet for ages and ages, and then when they meet there is just nothing there.

Cant beat me though. I sent my DH a message on the Tuesday, we emailed each other lots of times for 2 days, then spoke on the phone 2 days later on the Thursday, met up 2 days later on the Saturday, and I knew by then he was 'the one' . Then felt God giving me a word on the Sunday confirming it. Not saying it was all plain sailing, when you have both had previous marriages and are that much older, there is always  baggage and things to work through, but he is the best.

Mind you both my son and daughter mailed and spoke on the phone/texted for about 2 months till they met their partners, but they lived much further away. We were only 40 mins drive apart.  I tell loads of people how we met, and have recommended the internet to many others. I think its great to have that opportunity of meeting this way, that not so long ago people didnt have.

I am a great believer in being proactive, and I hate it when anyone moans about not meeting anyone, but isnt prepared to make any effort to do so. As a close friends husband said to his 2 sons(who are in their mid 20's) "you arent going to meet anyone sitting in your rooms playing computer games" How right that is. If anyone says this to me, I always say "Try the internet" and if they wont then its their loss isnt it. I would probably still be alone if I hadnt made that effort.I know 2 Christian ladies who would love to meet a guy, but despite my story they still wont bother to try it.  ::shrug::

God Bless and looking forward to hearing how things go.  ::smile::
