I wasn't terribly impressed with Dreamcatcher as a book... it probably isn't what I expected from King.

Or maybe it's just because I speed-read it standing in Wal-Mart waiting for Mike.

Maybe seeing all the critters, and scared guys running around inhabited, is better than the book.

There's a series of nine animated films that comprise The Animatrix[/i] .  The trailer for these is on the official Matrix[/i] web site and the DVD I mentioned before will include all of them.  They aren't releasing it until June, which is a bit confusing because Final Flight[/i] is supposed to set up Reloaded[/i].  Since I saw the conclusion, I'm pretty sure I have the gist of what they mean.  Since I missed the beginning, I didn't see the scene Trois mentions.

Wife and I scored tickets to a sneak preview of What a Girl Wants[/i] (I'm working on a review for that one... maybe later.) as part of a twinbill with Dreamcatcher[/i].  Now, I don't know whose infinite wisdom led to this pairing, but needless to say we had to find something to do with our daughter in between the two showings.  Then, as luck would have it, the first movie didn't start on time and the second movie was in another screening room down the hall.

Don't worry... there's point soon to follow.

We were late for Dreamcatcher[/i]. Luckily, the second movie hadn't started yet.  Unfortunately, we walked in during the middle of Final Flight of the Osiris[/i], the animated Matrix[/i] short film that is attached to the Dreamcatcher[/i].  (Probably the due to the same aformentioned wisdom?)

We were very disappointed that we were only able to see the conclusion.  The computer animation was impressive.  If anybody out there has seen it, I'd like to hear what you thought.

If you haven't seen it... well, I'm not too sure it's worth sitting through Dreamcatcher[/i] to see (maybe I'll tell you all about that one some day, too) so don't run out and spend the big bucks.  I checked the web site and it does not have this film available to download, but I imagine it might be after Dreamcatcher[/i] finishes its run.  Or they might attach it Reloaded[/i].  Either way, I'll just have to wait.

Late breaking news: just learned it will be realesed as part of The Animatrix on DVD in June.

Thought some of you might want to know it's out there.

Animatrix was good but I must confess the over the top sexuality of the opening scene is extremely sensual. I would not suggest it to any boys trying to keep their minds pure. :lookaround:

The Dreamcatcher was a waste of good actors. Bad script, bad dialogue, .. just bad. :goingtopuke:  :walkingdog:  :puking:
