1Co 11:3  But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

I know that this is an unpopular subject in our world today. It is however, a much needed one. Men have as a whole, thrown in the towel! They are not taking their responsibility as the head of the home seriously. Men we stand accountable before God almighty! He is not going to ask our wives nor our children why our families are a total shambles. It is in our hands! What are you doing to try to be a better husband and father? Are you making sure you and your family are in a good bible preaching church? Are you leading by example? Does your family see Christ in you or just a whole bunch of worldliness and flesh?
How we need some men to stand up and be godly husbands and fathers for the honor and glory of God! Lord help us to stop making excuses and start doing what we know to do.

Sincerely in Christ,

Marlin

When the rights of the fathers are nullified by the judges and the family courts, then the fathers are powerless.
Fathers are  not allowed to be sovereign any longer.  A sovereign family is a kingdom and the beast considers this kingdom to be a threat to its own existence.

I am fortunate to know some really good and godly fathers. One of them my husband. Many men in my church are brilliant dads and husbands without being controlling either, just loving their familes in the right way.

Um - the text says "head of the wife..." and NOT 'head of the house' or 'head of the home.'

I was raised in a matriotism (is that the word?) culture, the woman is always in charge of the home. Since we lived in extended families, we always had to consult the oldest woman in the house first before doing anything as a matter of respect. She is the most respected in the family, without her everything falls apart.

The word is matriarchal.

Thanks, that's what I meant to say.

It's sad how people have lost site or just don't have the roots to know this instinctively. I have a crazy aunt and she thinks because she is the oldest we should all listen to her now, but we don't share the same house, it only applies to the people inside the home.

It's not always good though. My grandmother had to obey her ugly step mother-in-law. My grandfather spent a lot of time in jail and if the step mom said no she can't have any money to buy food, she had to feed lard to her children because they didn't have any money eat. But the step mom had a lot of money and my grandfathers step sisters, like 4 or 5 of them all lived in the house with my grandmother and they were so mean to her. She just had to suck it up and take it. When she was pregnant, they used to hide the food from her.

Bitter Sweet

I just remembered something about my grandmother. She used to cut out pictures of children along their form, she was a seamstress and had a steady hand. Just random pictures of toddlers and babies from magazines and she glued them to the refrigerator. I understand why now.

Pretty much.

People who complain about Father's not "stepping up" or whatever the lingo is, are not facing the facts about what they're really up against--and hence, not standing on their side when that's what they should be doing.

I think I am doing pretty good considering the circumstances in the world right now. It is tough these days, the world is in a horrible state. Reminds me of Lot trying to raise a family in Sodom.

I believe there is a war on the family going on and much of it is directed toward undermining the father\husband's authority in the home. Memphis had cited the courts, I will cite the endless stream of television commercials out there where the dad\husband\man is portrayed as a complete imbecile who is to be corrected and\or ignored (if you hadn't noticed, take note now that I mentioned something or do a quick youtube\google search). Those commercials make me cringe when I see them because I know how powerful they are in shaping views on what is "normal life"

It is our job as fathers and especially christian fathers to rise above the adversities and battles, I would say our prayer lives are especially important, but I just wanted to vent a little here, the challenges are real and present even for those who make it a point to be a good, christian father\husband.

It is very important to have a strong family unit to have a a good national culture, and in many areas\cases that is broken, shattered, or ill and we are seeing some of the effects of that.

Ok, vent session over.   ::lookaround::

This pretty sums up what I was saying on the commercial issue:

Not just commercials, just the media in general as well:
