Yes, it is long, and okay, you didn't read it .... so why are we notifying everyone of this?

Hi and welcome to the forum :-)

Alot of what you express is the turmoil of trying to figure yourself out as well as your relationship with your GF. It can be a difficult road indeed, trying to work out how you fit together all the bits of the jigsaw. We have dreams and ideals, yet our fallen nature wars within us, and we can feel tremendous inner conflict at any age. But certainly at your time in life things can be very intense.

Sounds to me - sorry, I eavesdropped on your sessions with the doc - like you do love your GF. Just remember that love is about setting your will to put another's needs before yourself, then putting that into action. As well as the chemistry, attraction, and all that heady stuff :-)

You seem to understand this. My son is 17 and has been with his GF for almost 2 years and demonstrates a very mature attitude in this regard, so I know that young couples are capable of the kind of giving love that God calls us to. I am not going to tell you to go out and see the world and forget being so serious. If you guys are in love, then get engaged and prepare for your wedding.

1 Corinthians 13 has your blueprint, put that in the centre of your relationship and your love for each other will have a God designed defensive wall.

Many people wrestle with sexual temptation and raging desire that threatens to wreck our best hopes and dreams. You are deffo not unusual, and are called to rein in your lusts like the rest of us. I know you know. Take whatever steps you need to, to remove yourself from the edge, you are making temptation too much to handle. Those playing with fire...finish it yourself and take it to heart.

That is love in action. Love for your girlfriend, for God. The blood of Jesus purifies you from all unrighteousness. But God calls you to walk by the Spirit. Help your flesh submit by making practical plans to navigate around temptation. Stop tip toe-ing through the minefield, go around it ! :-) Quit making out..quit spending time alone smooching.

Also, just found myself wondering if you might be struggling with a similar personality to me. It sure can make relationships and self image far more challenging than 'normal'. Take a look into HSP, while I appreciate that this may not be 100% correct understanding of what makes some people tick, it offers some insights into they way some of us think. I am pretty sure that you will recognise quite a bit of what HSP covers.

Sufice to say, the answer to your situation is God in your life, through the Holy Spirit. HSP or not. He can handle it all. Devote your heart to Him and the enemy will have less impact on your mind. At the moment you are vulnerable.

Thanks and no problem :) Being there for each other is a big part of what Church is all about. Bless you. Keep walking with Jesus.
