Isa.53:1-2, Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground."

Rom.11:25, "Blindness in part is happened to Israel."

Gal.4:18, "Having the understanding darkened being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them (Gentiles,) because of the blindness of their heart."

The blindness of the Jews; and the lack of understanding of the Gentiles; and with Satan death, and hell ruled.

As I looked upon the open fields, the ground had become baked, and dry. It crumbled in my hand, and fell to the ground as so much dust. It had not rained for many months, and the newly planted seeds having been deprived of water began to die.

Even a tear would not help now, as the blazing sun had already taken its toll. The tears of despair how many there are; yet in one small place, a miracle had taken place. The ground appeared to have been watered, giving its precious abundance to the seed.

And so it was with mankind, forsaken, and rejected of God. The human race had become a valley of dry bones, having no life found in them.

Had God forsaken those He loved? Where was the promised seed of Gen.3:15?

"And He grew up as a tender plant, as a root out of dry ground."

Sarah, the wife of Abraham was 65 years old when she left the city of Ur of the Chaldees. She was promised a son by God, yet she remained baron. When Sarah was ninety, the Lord opened up her womb, and she bore a son, she called Isaac.

Repecca, the wife of Isaac, also gave to her husband no child for 20 years. Rebecca remained baron until Isaac pleaded with God for a child. And God opened up her womb, and she gave birth to twins, Esau, and Jacob.

Rachel, the beloved wife of Jacob. For many years, remained baron, and bore no child for her husband.

Gen.22:1, "And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb. And she conceived, and bore a son; and (she) said, God hath taken away my reproach."

The womb of the three women had been closed by God, until the time of his glorious power was to intercede. From them came the family of the 12 tribes of Israel, a precious people.

Deut.26:18, "The LORD hath avouched thee (the Jews) this day to be His peculiar (special) people."  Compare with,

Titus 2:14, "Who (Jesus) gave himself for us, the He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar (special) people, zealous of good works."

The Christian nation has become adopted sons of this peculiar people, the Jews.

And Jacob fathered 12 sons, each of them fathering a son. The nation of Israel came from wombs that had been closed, and baron, and baring no fruit. But in God's time, each woman gave birth to a son who would constitute the line of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Another seed had been promised; one from the tribe of Juda, a King, and High Priest. A man born of a virgin; and  "That which was (to be) conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost." Mary the mother of our Lord, having never known a man, conceived in her womb, the Son of God.

Gen.49:9, Jacob said of his son Judah, "Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he crouched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?" Compare,

Rev.5:5, Jesus is, "The Lion of the tribe of Judah."

Isa.11:1, "There shall come forth a rod out of the stem (shoot) of Jesse (the father of David,) and a branch shall grow out of his roots."

Rev.5:5, "The root of David (Jesus Christ,) hath prevailed."

Isaiah prophesied correctly 700 years before the glorious event of the virgin birth. The earth bore dead men for thousands of years, but now, the Lord would give us the water of life.  Drink and live, or die in your sins.

And those who love Him will bear much fruit for Him, and in this, will our Lord Jesus be glorified.
