I wasn't really aware of this until recently.  Does the RCC consider this prophecy to be valid?

Hopefully we can stay on topic here and not go off on tangents about the end of the world.

It is said that he had the gift of prophesy, but none of his prophesies were recorded. The "Popes" prophecy is considered to be a forgery.

I have to study it myself. I am not familiar with it at all.

As Forklift stated, it is believed to be a forgery.
This is the consensus among most modern scholars.  They state that it was created for partisan political reasons.

Could you expand on that a little Elvisman?  What political circumstance would lead to the creation of such a thing?

Thanks,

Jarrod

The prophecies are vague and one could read a lot into them.  For example, the popes are never listed by name, but by vague titles, as in the writings of Nostradamus.

The names given in Malachy's lifetime and beyond - until the 16th century were MUCH more accurate and vivid because the forger was FROM the 16th century.

However, after the 16th century, we see extremely vague references that are highly suspect such as the so-called "prophecy

The prophecies are vague and one could read a lot into them.
And then again in Daniel 12:3 we read that the wise shall shine as the stars of heaven.

The St. Malachy prophecy has been dead on . . .

But Satan has been up to his usual tricks . . .
