ugh. ::sick:: Cant say I have ever seen a fig leaf, but I am guessing they must be on the large side to cover up certain 'things'. ???

From what I seen of  "beachwear" lately, one don't need much imagination to stray for some folks don't deem it necessary to have coverings on the large side.

Not so big.  Not like Rhubarb or MoreDock.  I think they are on the order of about 3-4 inches [7-10 cm] in diameter.

But the text did say they "sewed" them together.

ETA:

I stand corrected on the size:  "The leaves are 12–25 centimetres (4.7–9.8 in) long and 10–18 centimetres (3.9–7.1 in) across, and deeply lobed with three or five lobes."

I guess the ones I have seen (only a couple) have had smaller leaves, perhaps due to poor growing conditions.

Would it help add to the confusion if I told U that the Fig tree is a symbol of the religious state named Israel.

Yup that is true, and in europe they dont even bother with a top in many places.

Good point, and as such, to be sewn they would have to be relatively tough, which might make them less than appetizing in a salad.

When I went to look up the size of fig leaves I saw a few links for a brand of beachware and lingere called "Fig Leaf." From the description it looked like it was from the UK.

I FIGured to leaf those sites alone ....
