Different socio-economic-groups do different things. Same goes for geographic location and age groups.

Then there is also the personality paradigm.

We got to have something more to go on than this.

Hi Michelle-

Obviously something is happening that you either are:

1) hoping indicates he in interested in you or , 2) upset that he is interested in you.

As a man of some years I can share with you the following which should be obvious to those with experience in relationships.

Is this man...

a) paying more attention to you than he is to other women?

b) showing up in places and/or at times when he is unexpected?

c) overly involved in your business and/or day to day life?

d) demanding more attention than he seems to be worthy of?

Do be careful.

Kind regards,

Chris

Agree with JohnDB on this one... it's really hard to answer the question without knowing some basic details: how old are you? how do you know this man? what kind of interactions have you had with him so far?  For high school seniors who meet at a football game, the "signs" of a crush are likely to be rather different than they would for a 40-year-old professional who started chatting with you at a dinner party.   ::yummy::

In general, if I had to pick a few signs that indicate he is interested in a romantic sense, I'd say:

  • Actively approaches you and strikes up conversation
  • Offers unsolicited compliments, ie. 'you have a great smile'
  • Asks for your phone number or other contact info
  • Maintains an unusual degree of eye contact; smiles at you across the room

There are many other signs that might apply... I did a quick google search and there's tons of articles on this topic... this one lists '25 signs he's into you' which might help you identify more things to look for.  I'm sure there are other similar lists out there.  But again, it's so situationally-dependent, so you'll definitely have to take these articles with a grain of salt.

I'm sure you're fully capable of using good judgement, but I'll echo Chris's "be careful" sentiment anyway (although in reality you'd probably not have to ask if he has a crush on you if he had sinister intentions...!).

Good luck :)

Tell us a bit more about you, and a bit more about the situation, and we MAY be able to help.

Like Dave said you can ask him, or assuming you are interested, ask him if he'd like to go for coffee and see where things go from there.

So many opportunities are lost by a man that does not have the confidence to make his interest obvious by asking a woman out.  If however, he sends out the appropriate cues to a woman he has an interest in, and she is confident enough to recognize those cues and act on them, a wonderful relationship may result.

Sadly many times both parties are not willing to take that leap, and the connection is lost.

Rejection sucks, but it is nothing compared to the pain in a lifetime of wondering; What if?

The "confusion", to me, says that it might be time to find some professional help. Find a professional councellor.

Talk about this & other things that are confusing you.

I often ask the same questions.  Men are so hard to read.  Just when you think someone is interested, they were really just being nice and nothing more. I most of the time just think they're being nice.  I'm a hairdresser and I've had coworkers tell me men were hitting on me and I had no clue.

But some guys will "hit on you" just to be nice too...and have absolutely no intention of dating you at the same time. (referred to as "catch and release")

Just one of the many games some guys will play.
Some guys play no games whatsoever. they will flat out ask you out on a date and if you say, "no" then you get crossed off their list forever till you ask them out.

I think the "ask him" advice is completely stupid. You people don't know anything about the situation and what you are suggesting might embarrass this girl needlessly.

What is so embarrassing about asking, "Do you like me" and opening a dialogue?

So many opportunities lost to worries of embarrassment.

IStillHaventFound...

Do you have any indication that open dialogue is possible?

Is he between 14 and 25 years old?  Is he breathing?

If you answered 'yes' to both questions, then he is probably interested in you (as well as just about every other girl/woman in his age group who doesn't suffer from some horribly debilitating illness).

Although I embrace the spirit of this post don't you think the age range is a little narrow? I mean, I'm 49 and I still like womenses.

Or did I miss something where she stated her age?
