I guess when they don't take the Catholic bashing lying down and being quite it makes the Catholics a problem. rofl  Yes P like you I don't understand the constant condemnation of others who do not agree with you on every perceived doctrine.  I don't know why one can not present what they understand from scripture without calling names and excluding others who have different views.  God will be the judge and I have no desire to try to do His job.  Most of my mod time is spent trying to stop the name calling and judging others as non Christians.  I have been on several Christian sites and this one is still far better than any I have seen.

I have noticed a lot of Catholics moving into the neighborhood. When I first started on GC I was interested because there were Restoration Movement types posting here but now we seem to be in the minority.

It was a better forum with more RM types on here.  I am not RM, but have some RM connections.

The flock of Catholics and TBN types have ruined this forum.  Most of the original moderators were RM affiliated at least, and this board didn't resemble Beliefnet in any fashion.

How can you blame Catholics when we spend 85% of our time in a subforum that others must visit to converse with us?

Its not like we're dominating the Theology Forum (main forum) or any of the other forums for that matter. I guess you prefer to lynch all the people you don't like.

Keep your lynching nonsense to yourself.

The Influx of Catholics and TBN types has ruined the board from what it once was, in my opinion.  My frame of reference is not 2009 or 2010.  My reference is 2001.  And my reference is prior to subforums.

Where did the lynching statement come from Hammer? You do realize Texas Conservative is not from Texas, where everyone is a member of the Ku Klux Klan? NOT.

Willie T

Texas, may I politely, and in love, suggest you stuff a sock in it?

I have little use for the RCC, but the RCC is NOT the individual Catholics who post here.  They follow what they see as right and proper.  Only two or three could be termed objectionable in some of their comments.  So what?  People come, and people go.  You or I are "right" in everything?  I think not.

Give it a rest.

Yes, I can see some reaction when someone comes on here claiming their's is the only way, and the rest of us are hell-bound reprobates, but that kind of nonsense is not limited to a few loudmouth people who happen to be Catholics.  And it certainly is not all Catholics here.

p.rehbein

To me it's just weird............I mean this "bashing" of Grace Centered.........much like the liberal Hollywood crowd that hates America so durn much............yet, oddly, they remain here........

::pondering::

If people actually believe that Grace Centered is so durn bad.........been "ruined," uh.......well...........why do they remain?

::pondering::

In another time I made the mistake of joining a couple of other "christian" forums/sites, but it only took a short while to see that I wanted no part of them........did'na "bash" them, rather I left and haven't been back..........same with TownHall.com.......and a couple of other political sites........they were not my cup of tea, but rather than spend my time on their forums bashing them, I chose to not go there.......because I understood that there were many, many people who enjoyed those sites, and it ain't always about "me."

I'm not telling anyone to leave.......that's not the point, the point is:  If things actually were so bad here on Grace Centered that I believed the site had been ruined.......why would I stay?

Simple truth is, Admin and others have created the best Christian Web Site going......perfect?  No, but far and above the others in my opinion.......

Sometimes we just gotta step back, take a breath, and consider the alternatives............and then be just a wee bit appreciative of what we have...........but, that's just me...........so.............

I don't care what your frame of reference entails and I'll put my lynching comments where I darn well please. The comment about the site being ruined doesn't deal with any year or time except the present.

You can not blame that on Catholics. I have read every single thread in the Catholic forum including the ones that were made before I arrived here. In that forum any confrontation is due primarily to those nonCatholics visting it and being rude. Today the exact same can be said. Apart from a few posters who obviously have nothing else to do with their time except repeat Unam Sanctum and Matthew 16, confrontation is caused by the rudeness of others. For the most part we stay in our area and hold our square. When we do venture out the majority of us keep exclusively Catholic doctrine out of the equation.

It was the same when broach was here, when dessertknight was here, and the hosts of others who have come and gone due to crudeness.

Not necessarily asking you to be silent.... but, rather, to post like a man.

Since you didn't see it all, frame of reference does matter.

And your lynching comment is beyond asinine.

If I were to "post like a man," would I tell someone to "stuff a sock in it?"   And with that, I've said my piece.  If either you Willie T, or Lighthammer, would like to continue, feel free to IM me.

It came from his discriminating attitude, thats where. It has nothing to with his name as I have followed his posts in the political forum and am aware that he's not from Texas.

Your defense of Texas or the south is unnecessary and irrelevant to my point. His senseless remark is a reflection of a prejudice attitude. When things in an area start to get uncomfortable or bad some loud mouth uneducated idiot blames it on the group of people most different from him and the majority. Sooner or later hate crimes start. No I'm not saying that TC was inciting such but only that his attitude is the same starting point for the acts of violence commited based on discrimination.

If someone is antisemitic you would probably make a reference to the Nazis. If someone is a liberal, communism. TC's retarded statement warranted a reference to lynching which only prejudice dumbfounded people like himself participate in.

Hecks wrong him, trying to blame Catholics who were and still are the minority in this community. "Everything was good before the Jews showed up!" "Eureka! Concentration cramps".

That was a stupid comment rooted in his dislike for Catholics.

imHis

If a person wants to be Catholic that is their choice and that choice is up to that person and God ONLY .
