 Comparison of Peter and Revelation

So what was the thousand years? If we compare Revelation to the writings of Peter we will find that they are about the same event. There are time-texts connected to these events both before and after the 1000 years. Therefore the 1000 years is fulfilled.

1 Peter 1:1 church in asia
Rev 1:4 church in asia

1 Peter 2:9 made a preisthood
Rev 1:6, Rev 20:6 kingdom of priests

1 Peter 4:5 ready to judge living and the dead <= ready = time text.
Rev 11, and 20 judge the living and the dead <= BTW Partials say Revelation 11 is fulfilled already

1 Peter 1:20 foundation of the world
Rev 13:8 foundation of the world

1 Peter 4:17 judge family of God
Rev 4 warnings against churches

1 Peter 5:13 Babylon
Rev 14, 16, 17, and 18 Babylon

1 Peter 5:8-10 resist Devil, suffer a little while <= A little while = time text.
Rev 20:3 released for a short time

2 Peter 2:4 angels chains
Rev 20:1-3 chains

2 Peter 3:13 new heaven and new earth <= Tied to the "last days" which all Partials say = AD70.
Rev 20:11, Rev 21 heaven and earth flee, New heaven and earth

2 Peter 3:8 day a thousand years thousand years a day <= 1000 years does not have to be literal or long period.
Rev 20:2 thousand years

So we see that 1000 does not have to mean a literal 1000 years.

All Revelation is about is things in the PAST, PRESENT and SHORTLY TO COME.

Revelation 1
19`Write the things that thou hast seen GOSPELS, and the things that are EPISTLES, and the things that are about to come (MELLO) after these things; AD 70

Revelation 20
1And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound HAST SEEN him for a thousand years. 7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison THINGS THAT ARE DURING EPISTLES 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire THINGS ABOUT TO COME and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are.

Things thou HAST seen - GOSPELS

Matthew 12
28But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

Things that ARE - EPISTLES

1 Peter 5
8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Things ABOUT TO come - AD 7O

Romans 16
20And the God of peace shall crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

WorldWithoutEnd

A thousand years is a large, rounded-off number like the number seven connotes a fullness of quality in Biblical imagery, the number ten contains the idea of a fullness of quantity; in other words, it stands for manyness. A thousand multiplies and intensifies this (10x10x10), in order to express great vastness (c.f. 5:11; 7:4-8; 9:16; 11:3,13; 12:6; 14:1,3,20). Thus, God claims to own "the cattle on a thousand hills" (Ps. 50:10). This of course does not mean that the cattle on the 1,001st hill belongs to someone else. God owns all the cattle on all the hills. But he says "a thousand" to indicate there are many hills, and much cattle (c.f. Deut. 1:11; 7:9; Ps. 68:17; 84:10; 90:4). Similarly, the thousand years of Revelation 20 represent a vast, undefined period of time.

Milton Terry observes:  "The thousand years is to be understood as a symbolical number, denoting a long period. It is a round number, but stands for an indefinite period, an eon whose duration it would be a folly to attempt to compute. Its  beginning dates from the great catastrophe of Revelation, the fall of the mystic Babylon. It is same period as that required for the stone of Daniel's prophecy (Dan. 2:35) to fill the earth, and the mustard seed of Jesus' prophecy to consummate its world-wide growth (Matt. 13:31-32)."
