As a Christian and a small business owner, I think its important to give back to our communities as much as I can. I sell mobile phones for a living, and I try to give back in small ways, like offering discounts to neighborhood organizations and donating old phones to charity. Another way I give back is by using Christian Processing for credit card payments. I feel good about this service because it is secure and safe, but also because they give back 25% of the revenue to the church of my choice. For me, that's Crossroads Christian Church here in Texas.

This is important because, to me, giving back is a huge part of being a good Christian. Our communities are the reason our businesses thrive, so it only seems right to help out and support others. So, I'm asking for ideas from other Christian business owners: what are other ways we can reach out and give back to our communities?

The main way is to operate your business fairly and treat everyone equally well.

When Little league teams come by looking for sponsors for their uniforms...help out.

Now if it is the neighborhood chapter of the Antichrist Heathen alliance looking for a donation...you can be discriminatory and just say, "no".

The very best way is to live according to the scriptures, if you profess the name of Jesus Christ.  Being honest in all of our dealing with all all men.  Our balances are honest.  If we promise something, then do more than you promise.  Be willing to suffer lost, if your name is at stake.  Be fair in all of your price of your product that you are selling.  Be willing to do free service, for others, it is not always about how much money you are making. If you are in business, there will be many times when you can make more money, if you do this or that, and no one would know but you and God, chose to do right every time, for if you do not, then you lose in the end.  I have been in business for a few years, and know the temptations that come by being in business.  There is nothing wrong in making money honestly.  In closing, remember those who work for you, and reward them accordingly.  Give them a fair wage for the work that they do.  Treat them like they are part of your very own family, and never speak down to them, give them the same respect that you require from them.  We serve a full breakfast every morning for all of our workers, around thirteen workers.   This is giving back to your community as much as any way you can.
