Knowing what makes marriage work is simple to understand. You have to just do the simple things required to make marriage work. Successful marriage is an accumulation of doing the simple things day in and day out.

Bitter Sweet

One of the simple things I do is keep the house clean and in order, everyday. Even when my husband doesn't come home for days, it helps teach my children to respect the environment that we live in. I don't think it's anything we do personally (i.e. breakfast in bed) for the other but for the whole.

My husband will call to tell me he is on the way home, upset about not having air conditioning, or some other problems with his business but as soon as he walks in the door his attitude changes and he feels a lot better and has told me numerous times that he forgets about all of his problems when he walks into our home and that makes us all happy because we don't have to listen to him complain.

Beautiful.
Your husband is blessed to be able to look forward to arriving home and have you greet him and his children as well. It certainly is a 'jungle' out there...particularly in the wilds of 'Rurutu' Ohio; or the far flung 'Isles of Langerhan'.

To you sister:
"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

"The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

"She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

"She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

"Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

"She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

"She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

"Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

"Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates."
